Coach Tawanda began her instructor career in 2002. Coach Tawanda taught at the Mt Vernon YMCA for years before their pool offically closed down. In 2012, Coach Tawanda was recruited to the New Rochelle YMCA and has been teaching every since. Coach Tawanda holds certifications in both YSL and WSI and has taught several swim athletes that have gone on to swim competitively in swim leagues as well as college. In 2020, Coach Tawanda was asked to join the Sailfish coaching staff. Coach Tawanda has over 20 years teaching swimming and three years coaching experience. We are excited about Coach Tawanda's motivational skills and experience as we build and strive for greatness.
