The Jakarta AquaDragons Swim Team offers training to Beginner, Developmental and Squad swimmers based on age, ability and training commitment. Swimmers are expected to meet the respective requirements for each group before being considered. It is our goal to challenge and develop each swimmer individually to help them achieve their full potential both in and out of the pool.
II) DEVELOPMENTAL TEAMS ** Denotes that strokes must be performed to the standards set by the Jakarta AquaDragons Swim Team KOMODOS 1 Although strokes need not be performed to AquaDragons standards, 100 m of non-stop swimming, including 25 m of freestyle and 25 m of backstroke, as well as an ability to swim in deep water are the minimum requirements for acceptance on the team. Swimmers must also be a minimum of 6 years of age. Training commitment: 2 x per week, Total of 2.3 hours per week (50 min; 1.5 hour) KOMODOS 2 The following are the minimum requirements:
Swimmers are expected to attend AquaDragons internal meets and are invited to attend city wide developmental meets. Swimmers may also attend the Fall Invitational and AquaDragons Open if 9 years of age or older and upon approval from their coaches. Training commitment: 3 x per week, Total 4 hours (75 min; 75 min; 1.5 hour) KOMODOS 3 The following are the minimum requirements:
Swimmers are expected to attend AquaDragons internal meets and are invited to attend city wide developmental meets. Swimmers may also attend the Fall Invitational and AquaDragons Open if 9 years of age or older and upon approval from their coaches. Training commitment: 3 x per week, Total 4 hours (75 min; 75 min; 1.5 hour) BRONZE The following are the minimum requirements for the Bronze group:
Swimmers are expected to attend AquaDragons internal meets and are invited to attend city wide meets. Swimmers may also attend the Fall Invitational and AquaDragons Open if 9 years of age or older and upon approval from their coaches. Training commitment: 4 x per week, Total 6.5 hours (1.5 hour; 1.5 hour; 1.5 hour; 2 hours) SWIMFIT This group is for individuals who require stroke improvement, would like to swim to maintain their fitness or to complement the training benefits of other sports or who are not able to commit the time required for a squad group. The SwimFit program will provide pool time and a coach who will supervise and prepare organized swim workouts. Swimmers must be able to swim continuously for 400 m. Participation in AquaDragons swim meets is encouraged. Training availability: up to 6 x per week, Total up to 6 hours (1 hour sessions) MASTERS This is a newly created group for adults (25 years of age and older) who wish to swim for Fitness or for Triathlon preparation. This program will provide pool time and a coach who will supervise and prepare organized swim workouts. Swimmers must be able to swim continuously for 400 m. Participation in AquaDragon home meets is included at no charge. Training availability: up to 6 x per week, Total up to 6 hours (1 hour sessions)
III) SQUAD TEAMS All strokes, starts and turns must be performed to FINA standards. SILVER The following are the minimum requirements for the Silver group:
Swimmers are expected to attend swim meets held in Jakarta (both home and away). Swimmers should be in Middle School. Training commitment: 4 x per week, Total 7 hours (1.5 hour; 1.5 hour; 2 hour; 2 hour) GOLD The following are the minimum requirements for the Gold group:
Swimmers are expected to attend swim meets held in Jakarta (both home and away). Swimmers will be in High School. Training commitment: 5 x per week, Total 9 hours (1.5 hour; 1.5 hour; 1.5 hour; 2 hour; 2.5 hour) PLATINUM Swimmers in the Platinum group are expected to attain Naga Challenge times and attend 6 sessions per week. The following times are expected:
Swimmers are expected to attend all meets. Training commitment: up to 8 x per week, Total up to 14.5 hours (1 hr morning sessions; 2 hour weekday sessions; 2.5 hour Saturday sessions) |
