RIPTIDE SWIM TEAM POLICIES

The following is a quick reference guide to Riptide's Club Team policies. Please reference USA Swimming rules and regulations and our handbook for detailed information. 

  1. Each swimmer must have a completed registration form on file. Swimmers may try out up to three practices before they must formally register. Once you've decided to join and been approved by a coach, fill out the registration by clicking on "start registration" to your left.

  2. Each swimmer must have a completed the front desk waiver/check-in before appearing on a pool deck to try out practice. 

  3. CAC membership registration must be completed by your child’s fourth practice. We will bill you through club charge for team monthly dues, swim meet entry fees, and USA Swimming membership fees. 

  4. USA Swimming Rules state that parents are not allowed to be on the pool deck during practice. Please refrain from entering the deck, sitting on deck, or watching during practice hours.

  5. All participating swimmers must wear an appropriate practice suit for practice and the team or race suit for competition.

  6. Coaches will instruct from the side of the pool. On occasion coaches will get in the water to demonstrate a skill or assist in teaching technique.

  7. Riptide coaches will adhere to a two warning policy. Any swimmer displaying disruptive behavior will receive one verbal warning. On the second disruption, the swimmer will be removed from practice and the coach will contact the swimmer's parents to pick them up. We want to ensure that all teammates are able to participate in a session free from distractions and interruptions.

  8. A 10% discount on monthly dues will be given to families with siblings on our team. The discount applies to all siblings.

  9. A 20% discount on monthly dues will be given to children of CAC employees.  Regularly scheduled coaches' children will not pay swim team dues.

  10. Scholarships will be awarded through an application process.  Please see the forms page for our scholarship application. 

  11. Swimmers whose parent officiates a meet will recieve a $60 discount on the meet entry fees.

  12. Any swimmers transfering to Riptide from another team will be billed the $100 transfer fee assessed by Colorado Swimming.
