Safe Sport

USA Swimming is committed to fostering a fun, healthy and safe environment for all of its members.  For that reason, USA Swimming has put in place a detailed Code of Conduct regarding athlete protection.  Please see USA Swimming's website for more details regarding the rules, policies, reporting structure, education and tools.

  • For existing USA Swimming members, required training for all non-athlete members and athletes age 18+ can be found here
  • Safe Sport Training for minor athletes, ages 13-17, must take "SafeSport for Athletes" course and can be found on your USA Swimming Portal under the education tab
  • Safe Sport Training for parents (non-USA Swimming members) must take "Parent's Guide to Misconduct in Sport" and can be found on your USA Swimming Portal under the education tab

The U.S. National Center for Safe Sport has a 24/7 helpline for reporting sexual abuse and provides confidential counseling for victims.  Specialist are available for live, confidential, one-on-one support.  To access live, confidential help over the phone, call 866-200-0796.

National Children's AllianceNCA represents the national network of Child Advocacy Centers (CAC). CAC’s host a multidisciplinary team of law enforcement, child protective services, victim advocates and mental health practitioners who investigate instances of child abuse and neglect. National Sexual Assault Hotline: The national hotline serves people affected by sexual violence. Click the link to search for local centers or call the hotline phone number 800-656-HOPE.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides a national network of 160 local crisis centers and provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
