To join our club: Swimmers must be in Kindergarten in Spring of 2024

Swimmers must demonstrate the following swim skills: 

1) Safe entry into shallow water

2) Safe exit from shallow water

3) Safe entry into deep water

4) Safe exit from deep water

5) Swim unassisted and continuously 1 length (25m) of the pool

6) Tread water for 15 seconds (mouth, nose, eyes, & ears out of the water) 

Swimmers must also have the ability to: 
1) Listen
2) Follow instructions and directions from Coaches and Lifeguards
3) Follow pool rules
4) Have respectful behavior in all areas of the facility, and at all events
 
To compete in swim meets, swimmers must meet the Competition Readiness Standard.  The swimming portion of the standard, known as the competition swim test, will be evaluated by coaches during try-out week and again the week of may 20, 2024. 
 
Swimmers do not need to pass this test during try-out week, but must pass all individual components as described above.  Doing this test during try-out week will give families understanding of what is required. 
 
This test is: 
Swimmers complete the following continuous sequence: 
1) Safe shallow water entry (sit or slip in) 
2) Swim 25m of any style without stopping or resting
3) Exit the pool from deep water
4) Jump feet first into deep water and recover
5) Tread water for 30 seconds, mouth and nose above the water at all times. 
6) Finish by swimming 25m of any style without stopping or resting.
