2024 Summer Registration Information

Prospective Pirates families!

Online registration for our SAAA summer swimming will be open at the beginning of March.  The first step is filling out the form linked in step 1.  Then you need to come to the pool for a swim evaluation for group placement, payment, and to turn in paperwork, from steps 3 & 4 below.  The in-person portion of our registrations are at the Oro Valley Aquatic Center on Tuesday March 5th (returning families only) 4:30-6:30pm , Monday March 11th from 4:30-6:40pm and Tuesday March 19th from 5:30-6:30pm.

Returning families are defined as any family that had at least one active swimmer since June of 2023. This includes all current year-round swimmers, anyone that swam in the Fall or Winter of 2023 and any swimmers that particpated in the 2022 summer season. If you have a sibling that is new to swimmer they can also be registered during the returning family registration.

Required for 2024 Registration:

  1. Register each of your swimmers using this online form 2024 OV Pirates SAAA Registration Form For Returning Families: form needs to be completed no later than Sunday March 5th in order to reserve your space on the team.
  2. Read the 2024 Team Policies - there are important details about volunteer requirements, our team standards and policies, and general expectations 2024 Parent and Swimmer Expectations and policies

  6. Attend an in-person registration at the Oro Valley Aquatic Center

Online registration forms indicate your desire to be placed on our swim team, but we will not be able to secure your spot until a swim evaluation has been completed and swimmers are placed in groups. Any online registrations submitted form families who have not previously swam with us will not be honored until the swim placement test has been conducted which is on a first come first served basis at the registration sessions. Each group has a limited number of spots to ensure that we are able to best meet the development of each swimmer.  We always have spots available at the beginning of registration for new families who are interested in joining our team, but have been filled to capacity and had a short waiting list the past several years.

EVALUATIONS for Group Placement:

  • Returning  swimmers do not need to be evaluated for group placement unless you would like your group placement to be reviewed.
    • New siblings or any siblings that have not swam since before June of 2022 need to be evaluated
  • Any new swimmers (including new siblings) will need to be evaluated for group placement
  • Evaluations  will be during pool registrations on Tuesday March 5th 4:30-6:30pm, Monday March 11th 4:30-6:30pm and Tuesday March 19th from 5:30-6:30pm. Swimmers should come ready to get in the pool with a swimsuit, goggles and towel. Swimmers with longer hair should bring a swim cap if needed.

Swim evaluations are completed to make sure that swimmers are placed in the appropriate group based on their skills and endurance with the four swimming strokes.  We value ourselves as a teaching team, so knowledge of all 4 strokes nor refinement in these strokes is a requirement to join our team.  We have groups for all levels of swimmers as long as they can make it across the pool nearly independently.

2024 SAAA Summer Season Rates

Fee Structure: As we’ve done for the last few seasons, fees will be split into two separate fees: a “team fee” and a “season fee”. The non-refundable team fee for 2024 will be $110 per swimmer.  The season fees are as follows:

  • Emerald: $245
  • Topaz: $285
  • Gold & Onyx: $320
  • The first sibling will receive a 20% discount on their season fees. Additional siblings will receive a 50% discount.

All fees are paid directly to the team. You may pay by cash, Zelle, check, or debit/credit card. We are now offering Zelle to reduce the overhead cost associated with credit cards, so we do appreciate your payments that do not run through Square
