Our Coaches
With over 25 years of swimming experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and dedication to my role as a swim coach. My journey began at the Columbia Association, where I specialized in teaching survival swim techniques to infants under one year. I also prepared school-aged children for swim team tryouts, ran stroke refinement clinics, and taught adult swim lessons, gaining extensive experience in both group and private lesson settings.
At the Danville Area Community Center, I taught group lessons for children aged 2-11, assisted with Baby Fish courses, and served as a lifeguard during swim team practices. My coaching experience extends to providing personal training sessions for triathletes and aspiring open water swimmers. I conducted stroke refinement clinics in both pool and open water settings and taught beginner adult lessons.
As a marathon and ice swimmer, my accomplishments include being the first American woman to swim the Bonifacio Channel solo in 2019. I have competed in numerous prestigious events such as the Maryland Freedom Swim across the Choptank River, the Great Chesapeake Bay Swim, the Steelman Open Water 5km, Swim the South River, The Charles Bender 8 Mile Memorial Swim, and the Memphremagog Winter Swim Fest from 2020-2022. Additionally, I have completed two unofficial ice miles and four Alcatraz crossings.
My dedication to swimming is further demonstrated by my past sponsorships with Altera Life, BlueSeventy Racing, and New Wave Swim Buoy. I obtained my lifeguard certification in 2008, ensuring a strong foundation in water safety. I am committed to helping swimmers of all levels achieve their goals and excel in their swimming journey.
