CAJ President

Good Afternoon CAJ Parents,

I want to start by apologizing for the lack of communication from me. It is important for the health of the team that there is good correspondence from the head coach every week. I will strive to do a better job. Please know that I am always available to you to talk either by email or by calling.

I joined the team in February with the short course season well on its way. I felt it best not to come in and change things up yet. There have been some changes but more needs to be done. Summer is just around the corner with Long Course starting and NVALs are on their way. We are going to move the team forward in the direction I feel is best for all swimmers. I am meeting with the coaches this week to discuss how I want the team structured in certain areas to ensure each swimmer gets personal instruction as much as possible.

More concentrated efforts to develop stroke techniques for the White, MiniJets, and Navy groups. The Pre-seniors and Seniors continue stroke development with increased conditioning

I will be coaching each group on certain days of the week. On the other days, I will guide the coaches, based on how I want workouts to be structured. The goal is to make sure each swimmer gets the necessary personal work to ensure their improvement.

Navy Group will be divided into two groups practicing at the same time. Both groups will do the same work. This way we can do a much better job addressing the needs and skill levels.

Practice this Saturday at Durham Pool. (April 23rd)

Pre-Seniors and Senior 11 am-1 pm.  White, MiniJets, and Navy 12 pm-1 pm.

Practice times in May have not changed for any of the groups for afternoon/evening sessions.

Pre Senior & Senior Groups Please check the modified schedule for May on our website.

  • CAJ WEBSITE: All members must double-check your Team Unify member account to ensure that your e-mail is correct and verified. We also need you to verify your SMS number, and make sure you use dashes. This will ensure you receive ALL of our communications.
  • REMINDER FROM IN MOTION: If families discontinue their In Motion gym membership it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify In Motion that the swimmer is remaining an Aquajet swimmer. We’d also appreciate notification to the team through the “contact us” button so that our bookkeeper and membership coordinators are aware of your IMF membership status. This will assist in smooth entry to the club as well as accurate billing information for CAJ. Thanks!

Thank you,

Coach Santos
