CAJ President

Good Morning CAJ Parents,

Coach Andrew’s Corner

I went on vacation before I had a chance to congratulate them so I’m going to start by giving a huge shoutout to our Aquajets that went to the Vacaville meet a week and a half ago. I’d also like to thank our parents for timing at the meet. It is greatly appreciated and a good example of teamwork to show the kids. Each of our nine swimmers either completed an event for the first time or dropped time in at least one of their races. Our swimmers who achieved a new time standard are:

  • Brynlie Homesley: Achieved B times in her 200 freestyle and 50 backstroke.

  • Felix Nuester: Achieved a B time in his 50 butterfly. Achieved BB times in his 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle.

  • Riley Chastain: Achieved BB times in her 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, and 500 freestyle. Achieved an A time in her 200 freestyle. Achieved a AA time in her 100 freestyle.

This coming Tuesday (10/11) we are having a team dinner at Round Table starting at 6:00pm. I have flyers at the pool for each of our families to take. Giving one of these flyers to the cashier at Round Table when you order will donate a percentage of your purchase to our team. At the team dinner I will announce our swimmer of the month for September, as well as discuss some other topics. This dinner is also an opportunity to get to know more of the team and to ask any questions you might have. Since the dinner starts at 6:00pm there will be no Presenior/Senior group practice on 10/11.

On Saturday 10/15 we are going to the Shasta Y Sharks Bill Fisher Classic meet. It will be a fun one-day meet in Redding that will most likely be done by 2:00pm. This will give our families a chance to see how the swimmers are progressing so I would like to see everyone signed up. Sign-ups close Wednesday 10/12 at 11:59pm.

For our Aquajet families going to the Spooktacular meet this weekend please have your swimmer at the pool and ready to start a dynamic warmup by 7:15am Saturday and Sunday. After the dynamic warm up we will hop into the water.

SWIMMER ACCOUNT REMINDER:  All swimmer fees are due on the 1st day of each month and are considered late if not received by the 10th. A $10 late fee will be assessed for late payments. Notice of intent to discontinue swimming must be provided to the Chico AquaJets in writing by the 15th of the month before the date of inactivity to cancel monthly fees. Written notice should be provided through the "Contact Us'' button on the CAJ website. Verbal notice to coaches is not sufficient. • BE ADVISED: if you discontinue your membership, the $65 registration fee will be reassessed upon re-registration.

  • CAJ WEBSITE: All members must double-check your Team Unify member account to ensure that your e-mail is correct and verified. We also need you to verify your SMS number, and make sure you use dashes. This will ensure you receive ALL of our communications.

  • REMINDER FROM IN MOTION: If families discontinue their In Motion gym membership it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify In Motion that the swimmer is remaining an Aquajet swimmer. We’d also appreciate notification to the team through the “contact us” button so that our bookkeeper and membership coordinators are aware of your IMF membership status. This will assist in smooth entry to the club as well as accurate billing information for CAJ. Thanks!
