Good afternoon Aquajets,

Another excellent weekend of racing from our Aquajets! Both our squad in Durham and our squad in Redding showed some excellent progress! I am excited to see what else they are capable of this Summer.

Thank you to all of our parents that have stepped up and started their officials training. I am hoping to see a big group of Aquajet officials in training at the Gridley meet this weekend.

COACH’S CORNER

I am challenging the Aquajets to push themselves this summer and see how much they can progress. In past summers if swimmers could get enough best times, then I would dye my beard blue (check out our Instagram for pictures). This summer, to be in line with our Despicable Me NVAL theme, if the Aquajets can achieve 450 or more official best times before NVALs, then I will get a bowl cut to go with my Vector costume.

We are offering another LCM practice at the Red Bluff this Friday (6/27, 7:30am-9:30am) for Pre-Senior and Senior group swimmers. If your swimmer want to commit to attending that practice please let me know. If no swimmers give me notice by the end of the day on Thursday, then I will cancel that practice.

Today (Monday 6/23) is our Panda Express fundraiser, 9:30am-11:00pm. Come support your team by getting some Panda Express! For the team to get a portion of the proceeds; when ordering in-person, show the fundraising flyer (located at its section of the Team Events on our website, and attached to this news splash) or, when ordering online, use the code 3841049 in the fundraiser code box.

The Plumas Rapids Open meet is open for signups! Signups close on Tuesday July 8 at 11:59pm or when all spots are filled. This is our camping meet of the year, and one of the team favorites. You don’t want to miss it! OME Link Camping Registration

The Orland Otters Invitational meet is open for signups! Signups close on Sunday July 13 at 11:59pm or when all spots are filled. This is one of the last swim meets before NVALs. If your swimmer hasn’t met their two meet requirement yet to attend NVALs then be sure to race at this meet! OME Link

The Team Store is open again for a brief window! Back by popular demand our Team Store is open again until this Wednesday (6/25) morning. The Team Store won’t open again until September or October so be sure to place your orders now to be able to show off that team spirit at the rest of our summer meets. Team Store Link

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  • Make sure your swimmer is USA Swimming registered (the link can be found in the “USA Swim Registration” section of the news splash)
  • Make sure your swimmer brings a water bottle to every practice
