COACH’S CORNER
With the weather cooling down, I am sure swimmers are going to want to use the hot tubs at In Motion. There are a couple things to keep in mind when using the hot tubs to ensure we maintain our positive relationship with In Motion: swimmers should only use the hot tubs if they are In Motion members, all rules for the hot tubs need to be followed, and children under the age of 14 must be supervised. If these rules are not followed then we may be barred from using the hot tubs entirely.
This Wednesday October 15 Chico High and Pleasant Valley High have their annual Fish Bowl swim meet. We will not be holding practices on this day, instead the plan for the afternoon is to go over to the PV Pool (2320 North Ave) and cheer at the Fish Bowl. This is a fun event to support our high school swimmers and to show our younger swimmers what a high school meet is like.
The deadline for cancelling your membership so you are not charged for November is this Wednesday 10/15. If you are planning on stopping at the end of October, send a cancellation message through the “Contact Us” option on our website.
Thursday this week (10/16), we will not have any practices. In Motion’s lap pool will be closed on Wed 10/15 and Thu 10/16 for regular maintenance. Regular practices will resume on Friday 10/17.
Our next Team Dinner will be on Wednesday Oct 29, 6:00pm at Burger Hut (2451 Forest Ave). Come spend the evening with your teammates and enjoy some good food. I will make a few announcements and hand out group awards. There will be no Senior or Pre-Senior practice this day to accommodate for the dinner.
On Saturday February 7, we will be hosting a large fundraiser. Come help and support your Chico Aquajets with this Fundraiser Dinner; an evening of great food, drinks, and community fun, featuring both live and silent auctions in support of our amazing swimmers! Share the event with friends, family, and anyone else that might be interested. More details will be coming out soon.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
- Make sure your swimmer is USA Swimming registered (the link can be found in the “USA Swim Registration” section of the Old Business/Policies and Procedures doc)
- Make sure your swimmer brings a water bottle to every practice
