Head Coach
Coach Jadyn
Hi Sharks!! I am so excited to be coming back this year, but this time as HEAD COACH!! Most of you would know me from when I started as an assistant coach in 2019 but for those who are new to the team, welcome! I am so excited to take on this new and amazing opportunity to learn more about being a head coach and to help both new and old sharks alike, to achieve their goals!!
As most of you already know, I was not a former shark, but a former winter club swimmer with the Parkland Pirates where I competed for almost 10 years!! When it was my time to leave swimming, I found myself missing the smell of chlorine and being near the pool. In March of 2022, I became a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Tri Leisure Center, then an assistant coach for the Memorial Composite High School swim team in October of 2022, as well as a coach for the Swim Fit program at the Tri Leisure in September of 2023. In terms of my education, I am at MacEwan University for a Bachelor of Science with a psychology major and sociology minor in hopes of someday becoming a criminal/forensic psychologist!
In my time as an assistant coach, I have had time to develop my values behind what being a memorable coach entail. I want to create an environment where athletes can achieve the goals they set with a coach assisting them in the best way possible. I want the athletes to enjoy practice, make friends, and create memories that will last a lifetime! I am so excited to see all of you this summer!!
P.S. bring a water bottle to each practice for……STICKERS!!
Assistant Coaches
Coach Maddie
Hello! My name is Maddie and I am super excited to be one of your new assistant coaches this year. Some of you may recognise me from the TLC where I am also a lifeguard and instructor, or you may even remember me from sharks as I swam as a shark during the 2016-2019 seasons. This year I get the privilege of graduating from Memorial Composite High School and I have the opportunity to attend MacEwan this fall for a Bachelor of Science. When I am not at the pool I enjoy watching movies and shows, hanging out with my friends and chilling with my dog and 2 cats. I hope you are all just as excited as I for this wonderful 2024 swim season!
Coach Dillon
Hello! My name is Dillon and I’m excited to be able to help coach this year of Sharks!! I’ve been swimming with Sharks since 2019 and last year I held the privilege of being able to volunteer as a Senior Coach for first hour swimmers. This year I hope to continue to improve my skills as a coach and bring everyone as close as I can to their best. After I graduate this spring my plans for the future are tentative, but RMT is my goal. I look forward to seeing everyone enjoying their time in the water this summer. Let's go SHARKS!!!
Coach Declan
Hello! I am Declan Riddell, and I am once again returning as a member of the Stony Plain Sharks, not as a swimmer or volunteer coach of previous years, but as an assistant coach! I’m in my grade 11 year at Memorial Composite High School, and am hoping to pursue kinesiology and potentially physical therapy in post-secondary. I began with sharks as a swimmer from 2019 until present day, and in 2022-2023 I became further involved with the Sharks as a junior/senior volunteer coach. Since beginning as a volunteer coach, I’ve discovered my passion for being a leader, coach, and mentor, and rediscovered my passion for the sport of swimming. I am grateful for the opportunity to have a greater role in the Sharks team, and hope you are all looking forward to the upcoming season as eagerly as I am!
Coach Elsa
Hello everyone, and welcome to the 2021 swim season!! My name is Coach Elsa, and I am thrilled to be back with the Sharks community. I started with sharks in 2006 and was a swimmer for 7 years, I also swam in high school with Memorial Composite. I recently graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education, focused in elementary. I have worked part-time for an organization called Adaptabilities for the past 2 years, where I support individuals with special needs. I enjoy laughing and having fun with family and friends. I am passionate about teaching and providing a welcoming, inclusive, and joyous environment. I love travelling, playing card and board games, being active and camping. I look forward to getting to know all of you and am excited to see where this season takes us!
