Some 300 swimmers descended into the Cornwall Aquatic Centre pool over the weekend, marking one of the best-attended Snowflake Invitational swim meets. The host Cornwall Sea Lions Club had a strong contingent on hand, including Kahlee Larivière and Max Rose, who are among the Lions’ most senior members. “I’m in awe,” said Rose after completing his 100-metre breaststroke swim. “We have over 300 swimmers here. The Cornwall Sea Lions swimmers have been busy preparing for the MacFall Invitational-their first official swim meet of the 2024-2025 season. The MacFall Invitational is a large swimming event hosted by the Mac Swim Club in Markham, Ontario.

Sports Energy News is spotlighting our new Head Coach, Arman this month. "I plan to build a uniform team, and then set both short-term and long-term goals for our swimmers and the club. This approach will engage all our swimmers in a process of continuous improvement, helping them get faster in the water and progressing from their current levels to higher levels, from regional to national." This past week the Lions Club hosted their 57th annual sports banquet. Max & Kahlee won swimmer of the year for CSL. Both have been with the team 6 & 8 years respectively, training between 11-12 hours a week in the pool. Max will be representing CSL at the Eastern Regional Ontario meet in the 100m & 200m breaststroke. Kahlee represented CSL last summer with Team Ontario at the North American Indigenous Games, where she raced on their relay teams placing 4 & 5th. Congrats to these amazing athletes!
