This weekend DUCKS participated at 2 Championships. 13&O were at the Ontario Youth-Junior Championships (OYJ) and 12&U were at the Ontario Winter Festivals. Both of these are Swim Ontario hosted provincial level swim meets, where the best swimmers in the province all come together to compete. Last Thursday, the first day of 2024 Ontario Youth-Junior Championships (OYJ), Audrey Zhang qualified for finals in 8th place in her 200BR at prelims. At finals Audrey swam a best time and came 3rd to win a bronze medal. Today, Audrey qualified for finals in 4th place in her 100BR at prelims. At finals she swam a personal best and came 2nd to win a silver medal. Her 100BR time qualifed for Ontario Swimming Championships as well as Canadian Eastern Championships. Today at the 2024 Ontario Winter Festival Championships, Erin Kim started off the championship with a silver medal in her 400IM with a time of 5:38.83. Moments later she swam the 200BR with a time of 2:52.18 to win a gold medal. Her 200BR time qualified for the Ontario Swimming Championships (OSC). Congratulations to Erin with her amazing results on the first day of festivals. Good job!!!

Today at the opening day of the Central Region B Championships, Nanami Fukamachi-Jones got a Gold Medal and broke the 1500m Free Club Record with a time of 18:51.83. She was the fastest in all the Girls including the older age group. Congratulations Nanami!!! What a great start for the Championship.
Today Marvin Zhang 11 years old broke the 11-12 years old 50BK Long Course Club Record with a time of 33.17s. Congratulations!!! I have the opportunity to train Marvin last year as he attended the entire Summer camps as well as the Christmas camps. He is a very disciplined and hard working swimmer with a very positive attitude that really likes the sport of swimming. I am sure he will continue to improve and break more club records in the future. Good job Marvin! Keep up the good work!
