November schedule notices:

  • Thursday, November 27 - All comp groups and Manta Teen Fit - NO SWIM. Yoga will proceed as scheduled, MSS groups will swim as scheduled.

  • Friday, November 28

    • ALL SWIMMERS attending Candy Cane (and travelling on Friday) are encouraged to come for a morning swim before travel! 6-7am.
    • ALL other groups - NO FRIDAY PM SWIM (except Jo's MSS Friday)
  • Saturday, November 29 - All comp groups - NO SWIM. NO Cross Fit Crude ***Yoga will proceed as scheduled***.

 

DECEMBER Schedule notices:

  • Monday, Dec 1 -  No AM swim

  • Friday, Dec 5 - SWIMATHON!: ALL SWIMMERS are invited to participate (parents too!)
    • Open the event file for more information and access the fundraising forms
    • Get out there and find your sponsors! Parents, neighbors, grandparents, local business owners and managers...
  • Saturday, Dec 6 - Photo Day

THE FORT MCMURRAY SWIM CLUB (FMSC)



 

GOALS OF THE FORT MCMURRAY SWIM CLUB PROGRAM

  • Allow athletes to develop to their maximum potential as swimmers and individuals through a commitment to personal excellence.
  • Provide an atmosphere for athletes to acquire an understanding of the importance of setting and achieving individual goals.
  • Allow athletes to develop an appreciation of the importance and process of working within a group toward a common goal(s).
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with other clubs and sport related organizations within the province of Alberta and Canada.
  • Produce competitive athletes on the regional, provincial, and national levels through all of these pursuits.

    • Manta Teen Fit (MTF)
  • Competitive Programs
    • Mini Manta ​Blue and Yellow Development (Mini)
    • Mighty Mantas - previously Festival (Mighty)
    • Manta Ray Step - with or without Dryland (MRS)
    • Manta Ray Provincial (MRP)
    • Junior/Senior Step - with or without Dryland - (14+Step or Jr/SrStep)
    • Junior/Senior Provincial Plus (JrSrPP)

Each stage of the FMSC pre-competitive & competitive programs will adhere to and follow the Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Model. FMSC will provide a comprehensive, full spectrum 'playground to podium' program for athletes in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
