2025 MEL ZAJAC JR INTERNATIONAL
UBC AQUATIC CENTRE, VANCOUVER, BC

Congratulations to Lucy, Mikayla, Mackenzie, Mary, Peyton and Gibson who attended the 2025 Mel Zajac Jr International this past weekend at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. We had many successful swims including 9 new club records broken. Alumni swimmers Olympian Finlay Knox and Pan Pacific Junior Team Canada Member Wells Ginzer were also competing, so it was great for our swimmers to catch up and see both of them.
We had finals from the following swimmers:
Lucy Wiens – 50 Back – 4th; 200 Back – 21st; 50 Fly – 17th; 100 Back – 14th
Mackenzie Hurd – 200 Free – 20th; 50 Back – 24th
CLUB RECORDS BROKEN
Lucy Wiens broke the 15-16 and overall club record in 50 Fly in 28.73
Mackenzie Hurd broke the 17 & over and a 6-year record in the 100 Free in 59.96 and the 17 & over and overall club record which was a 15-year-old record in the 200 Free in 2:08.99

broke the Female 15 & over and overall Club Records in the
4x100 Free Relay in 4:11.03
Mikayla Paul, Peyton Jones, Lucy Wiens & Mackenzie Hurd
broke the 15 & over and overall club records in the
4x100 Medley Relay in 4:36.13
Lucy and Mikayla are qualified and heading to the fastest competition in the country in a few weeks to attend the
2025 Canadian Swimming Trials in Victoria, BC
