SAFE SPORT AQUATIC ADVOCATE - Chris Flora

Swimming Canada's Safe Sport Program follows the belief that everyone in the sport has the right to enjoy the sport at whatever level or position they participate in a safe and inclusive training and competitive environment that is free of abuse, harassment or discrimination.

Okotoks Mavericks Swimming believes the welfare of everyone involved in the sport is a foremost consideration and in particular, the protection of children/athletes in the sport is the responsibility of each individual, member and special interest group in the swimming community.

Safe Sport Program will focus on 3 key areas:

1. EDUCATION: (Human Resources - Abuse, Harassement & Anti-bullying - Equity, Diversity & Inclusion - Anti-doping & Substance Abuse - Mental & Physical Health)

2. PREVENTION: (Screening - Required Training - Responsible Coaches movement - Early Intervention - Risk Management)

3. RESPONSE: (Support Services - Insurance - Conflict Resolution - Investigation - Discipline)

All of these areas will be supported by strong governance, policies & procedures to achieve the goal to ensure that all members and registrants of Okotoks Mavericks Swimming at all levels have the resources to provide and access a fun, healthy, inclusive and safe environment.
