2023 SPEEDO WESTERN CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to the 8 swimmers who competed at this National competition this past weekend.  We had a very successful and very interesting weekend.   It definitely goes down as one of the most memorable in my coaching career.

Congratulations to both Lucy Wiens and Jenna Willey who will join their team mates Wells Ginzer and Caden Kotowich at the 2023 Canadian Swimming Trials in Toronto next week as they both qualified in the 50 Back and 50 Fly respectively to swim at the most prestigious and fastest competition in the country.   There they will get to see swim alumni Maverick swimmers Finlay Knox and Justin Lisoway.

CLUB RECORDS BROKEN

Jenna Willey broke a 9 year old record in the 50 Fly (28.97) in the 15 & over age group girls and overall club record.

Wells Ginzer broke his own records in the 15 & over boys:

50 Free (23.92); 50 Back (26.94); 50 Fly (25.50)

Keton Murphy, Wells Ginzer, Jaden Melton & Caden Kotowich

broke the 15 & Over and Overall Club record in the 4 x 200 Free in 8.34.73

Lucy Wiens, Caden Kotowich, Wells Ginzer, Mackenzie Hurd

made a new club record in the 15 & over and Overall Club record in the  4 x 100 Mixed Medley relay in 4.13.68
