On the weekend the Killarney Swim Club was Rocking Around the Christmas Tree at the Pacific Coast Christmas Cracker and the Cascade Age Group Challenge. What a meet! Sprockets had over 70 swimmers attending and 137 Best Times! The Swimmers worked hard on their turns and streamlines for this meet and it all came together with many top 10 finishes. A Special shout out goes to Serena Q for getting her Festival Time in the 50 BK. Go KSC GO!

Over the weekend the Killarney Swim Club played host to the annual Short Course Invitational. The meet attracted over 550 swimmers from across the province and BC. Killarney was represented by 114 swimmers. The team posted impressive results. 583 personal best times were recorded. 2 Club records were set. 99 individual medals won including 29 Gold! The Killarney Swim Club had a busy weekend competing at the Cascade Speed Meet and MAVS Jack Frost. At the Speed Meet, KSC, was represented by 47 swimmers. The team posted 152 best times and set 11 club records! Killarney swimmers captured 31 medals including 7 gold. Matea Gigovic set the tone for the team. The Killarney Swim Club Kicked off the Season with competitions in Lethbridge and Canmore. Sixty-Two swimmers represented KSC at the Lethbridge Fall Challenge. This was the first team travel competition of the year. Swimmers enjoyed a 2-hour bus ride and bunking with buddies at the hotel. At the pool Killarney dominated the meet as the top team. Host Lethbridge finished second in team scoring. KSC swimmers posted 387 best times while earning 113 medal positions. And this included 38 event wins. Five club records were broken. The Killarney hosted Halloween Howler opened the Fundamentals circuit with a bang this past weekend. We had 94 swimmers in attendance who cheered so loud they got a round of applause from the stands. The meet was extremely successful with 178 personal bests and two Festival cuts! We have many Sprockets within reach of their Festivals times and two more meets to achieve them. Go Killarney Go!

Last week six members of the Killarney Swim Club took to the waters at the Pan Am Pool in Toronto for the Canadian Swimming Championships. The team was represented by Molly Fleming, Matea Gigovic, Brandon Hachey, Balazs Moldovan, Alan Piatek, and Alex Younger. The team posted 22 personal best times. The competition attracted over 600 swimmers from Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and BC. KSC Swimmers set 355 personal best times for 32 medals including 6 Gold. Last weekend, three Killarney Swimmers “Rocked the Games” at the Okotoks Recreation Center. Maya Share, Ethan Ngo, and Bauman Mori participated in the AB Summer Games which included 3000 athletes. This event tool place over 4 days and had opening and closing ceremonies. At the pool over 250 swimmers competed by representing their Zone.
