Yuto Lee flew west to the University of British Columbia. There he joined other selected national level athletes and Coach Ken McKinnon, the Canadian national development coach, for a week of training focused on race tactics and skills, alongside specialized stroke-specific training. He and his peers are in the final preparation stages for the 2024 Olympic Trials and 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, and this camp is part of a Swim Canada initiative to support young malaise as they develop and progress to senior teams. “Besides training sessions in the water, the swimmers were taught proper activation before practices, how to cool down after training and good lifestyle choices. “We’re trying to push that kind of development and preparation, an athlete’s lifestyle,” said McKinnon. “Your wellness outside of the pool, your flexibility, mobility and injury prevention work is as important as your pool training.”” swimming.ca
