Competitive Program

At the core of NKB programming is our competitive program. Within the competitive program there are many tiers that have been developed in alignment with the Appropriate Athlete Development matrix to support the short and long term success of our athletes.  Group placement is completed in the fall of each season. Progression through and placement within each program is based on the factors of coachability, age, work ethic, attendance, and performance collectively.

Ages used for placement are as of December 31 of the current season. This mirrors grade placement in schools to ensure swimmers maintain positive peer relationships throughout their swimming development.



 

Tryouts are held in early June and early September each year for the upcoming fall season.  Details will be posted to the home page of the NKB website about a month in advance.
