At NKB, we believe the best swimmers are built on a foundation of joy, confidence, and connection — and that starts early.

This past weekend was a perfect reminder of why we do what we do, as two events brought our youngest swimmers together to compete, laugh, and grow.

First up was Green, Black, and Blue, a friendly and unforgettable 10&Under showdown with our neighbours from Perth Stingrays. The pool was packed with cheers, lane races, and even a cup-stacking challenge. NKB swimmers split into Team Green and Team Black, racing alongside our Perth friends in Team Blue. It was grassroots swimming at its best—fun-first, out-of-the-box, and full of memorable moments.

Some great quotes we heard are:

“It was like racing your neighbour... only cooler!”
“Thank you for the memories, Perth. Let’s do it again next year.”

Who won? Let’s say... everyone did. 💚🖤💙

Later that weekend, our Junior Barracudas splashed into action in their mini meet—a celebration of movement, courage, and FUN. Our pre-competitive program is where many of our future racers begin their journey. The pool echoed with N-K-B 1-2-3 chants, big smiles, and even bigger energy from families cheering on the sidelines.

“Let’s go!” wasn’t just a cheer — it was the spirit of the day.

Whether it’s Friday Night at the Races, Green, Black & Blue, or a Junior Barracudas splash, the goal is always the same: Build confidence through experience, not pressure. To help kids fall in love with racing before they ever learn to fear it. To make swimming something they choose, not something they feel forced to do.

Because when kids feel safe, supported, and excited, they stay. They grow. They become Mighty.
