Black vs Green: Building Team Spirit, Leadership, and Lifelong Bonds

That spirit was on full display during our annual Black vs Green Spirit Day, one of the most anticipated events of the season. The entire club — from our newest Barracudas to our seasoned national swimmers — split into two powerhouse squads for a day of high-energy racing, loud cheering, and unstoppable team pride.

Beyond the fun, this day has a deeper purpose. It helps our new members feel part of something bigger, while giving our returning athletes a chance to lead, mentor, and model what NKB culture is all about. The energy on deck was electric — swimmers racing hard, celebrating louder, and supporting each other with the kind of sportsmanship that can’t be coached, only lived.

After a full day of friendly battles, Team Black claimed victory by a razor-thin margin, but everyone walked away a winner — more confident, more connected, and ready for the season ahead.

Because here at NKB, every competition is more than a meet — it’s another step in shaping strong athletes, good teammates, and future leaders.
