ABOUT US

OUR MISSION is to provide the resources for swimmers to develop and excel in the sport of competitive swimming, to his/her/they potential.

The Whitehorse Glacier Bears Swim Club is a strong competitive swimming club with a good age group foundation. We are a non-profit club, run by its elected Board of Directors which meets each month.

The season extends from September to June each year. Learning new skills, training hard, and having fun while recognizing the uniqueness of each swimmer are the cornerstones of our program. We develop the four competitive strokes, Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly and Breaststroke as well as dive starts, turns, and pace. Practices are in a fun and positive environment.

Our swim club accepts new members, after undergoing a pool evaluation (our New Swimmer Try Outs link is listed below).

All of our coaches, as members of the Canadian Swimming Coaches & Teachers Association, have access to the most comprehensive training and certification programs for youth coaches of any sport in Canada. They provide assurances that the time children spend swimming will be quality time.

.

Thank you for your interest in the Whitehorse Glacier Bears.

All prospective youth swimmers (ages 6 & up) must complete a pool evaluation with one of our Glacier Bear coaches before registration for each swimming season.  Depending on your child’s swimming ability, our coaches may either recommend a specific squad within the Club OR that your child continues to develop their skills through City swim lessons.

Please email the club [email protected] your interest to join our next swimming season.

Please note our 2023-2024 new swimmer intake has closed.

Check out our New Swimmer Try Outs page for more information and other great details about our club, swim meet records, information regarding volunteer requirements, fees, schedules, squad commitment & policies for the swim season.

Hope to see you pool side!
