Paseo Aquatics - News & Notes - week of January 21, 2013

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA JUNIOR OLYMPICS:

Paseo Aquatics' own Julia Wolf took home the Silver Medal in the 50 Backstroke and 2 Bronze Medals in the 50 Freestyle and 200 Backstroke at this weekend's SoCal Junior Olympics in Huntington Beach. Julia finished 2nd to the #1 Ranked 12-Under swimmer in the U.S. and 3rd behind the #1 and #4 Ranked Age Group swimmers in the country. Julia also placed 4th in the 100 Back, 200 Free and 5th in the 100 Free. She and all of the Coaches are to be congratulated on a very successful event!

SWIM CLINIC:

There will be a Swim Clinic-- open to ALL group levels-- this Saturday, January 26th, at 9:00am. The Clinic will focus on Finishes and closing out a race. (We will then hold a Clinic on Saturday, Feb. 9th summarizing the lessons of all previous sessions, to encompass Starts/Dives, Turns and Finishes).

TEAM MEETING: The weekly team meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 23rd, at 4:45pm. The meeting will be held either poolside or in the Paseo Clubhouse. Topics will include Saturday's swim clinic, the approaching Central California Junior Olympics, the Awards Banquet set for March 1st and other matters pertaining to the swim program.
