Paseo Aquatics - News & Notes - Week of May 27, 2013
PALM SPRINGS MEET
Congratulations to all those who competed in the 97 degree heat this weekend and made their presence known! Paseo Aquatics held their own against some great competition-- and survived being serenaded at the Blue Coyote Grill Saturday night as well :) Some highlights from the weekend:
Sonaly Wintermute - Placed in the top 3 of almost every 12-Under event, and logged a Personal Best in the 200 Breast!
Thomas Gleason - In his first-ever Paseo Aquatics meet, churned out some impressive times in the 200, 100 and 50 Free and the 100 Back.
Emma McDonald - Earned 3 Personal Bests in the 200 and 100 Free and 100 Breast.
Christina Taylor - Dropped over 3 seconds in the 100 Fly by swimming a Personal Best 1:18.48.
James Cusumano - Swam 2 Personal Bests in the 100 Back and 400 Free.
Sarah Elaebrak - Carved 6 seconds and 3 seconds respectively in the 50 Back and 50 Free, racking up Personal Bests in both.
Nicole Whitehead - Finished 1st in two Heats swimming the 100 Free and 100 Back.
Ryan Davis - Lit it up with a June Age Group time in the 50 Free; and 3 Central JO times in the 200 IM, 50 Back and 50 Fly!
Megan McDonald - Dropped a whopping 7 seconds in her 50 Breast, and also logged Personal Bests in the 100 Free, 100 Breast and 50 Fly.
Steffen Land - Shaved 4 seconds in the 100 Fly to earn a SoCal JO time, while also dropping 8 seconds in the 200 IM.
Teia Salvino - Placed 3rd in the 50 Back, fast becoming her trademark stroke.
Helena Salvino - Racked up 2 Personal Bests in the 50 and 100 Free.
Laine Matkin - Made the most of her trip with 2 Personal Bests in the 50 Breast and 50 Back.
Alexandria Duran - Swam a Personal Best in the 100 Back with a 1:28.72.
Julia Wolf - In her first-ever 13/14 Age Group meet, swept her age division with Personal Bests in the 200 Free and 200 Back, and placing first in the 50 Free.
Hannah Siegel - Who braved it alone at the Canyons Meet in Santa Clarita, ripped off 4 SoCal JO times in the 50 Free, 50 Back, 100 Back and 50 Fly! Hannah, from what we hear, had Paseo Aquatics as the talk of the meet.

PASEO AQUTICS SWIM MEET - JUNE 9TH
The scope of the meet has changed with respect to its competitive nature. The meet will no longer be a Paseo Aquatics vs. Summit Seals competition, rather an open swim meet hosted by Paseo Aquatics.
For those who have already entered, nothing will change and you are secured in your events. For those still looking to enter, the deadline to register is Wednesday, June 5th, at 5:00PM.
The meet will still take place on Sunday, June 9th, beginning at 8:00AM. Warm-Up will begin at 7:00AM.
