HAPPY THANKSGIVING ONE AND ALL!
Now that the holiday salutations are complete...
CRANBERRY CLASSIC SWIM MEET
Before we even get into the amazing results from this weekend, can we please give a shout-out to JODI CARTER and her VOLUNTEER STAFF for putting together a camp spread that was the envy of every visiting swim club!
We had swimmers and parents from every team asking if any of the food and/or beverages from our virtual buffet was for sale. They were convinced Paseo's nutritional layout was the food stand.
Fantastic job Jodi and company. The only downside is how you all intend to raise the bar in Palm Springs. Because of you, we're thinking of putting together an "All-Inclusive" package :)
As for the team-- what can we say. Personal Bests and WAG Times all over the place. Achievements too many to list. But among some of the numerous highlights:
- TAYLOR TOLEDO - Booking a trip to Palm Springs with her first-ever WAG time.
- DAVID KUGLER - Setting all sorts of Personal Best records, incl. an incredible drop in his IM.
- BRANDON PRUITT - Set a Personal Best by breaking the 30 in his 50 Yard Freestyle.
- CAMERON SMITH - Swimming in his first-ever Sanctioned swim meet and showing some serious Paseo Pride.
- ERIN NIEMI - Swimming a Personal Best in the 400 IM.
- SONALY WINTERMUTE - Closing the door on her 12-Under career with a signature sweep of almost every race.
- NICOLE WHITEHEAD - Taking on the challenge of her first 1000 Yard Freestyle and more than holding her own.
- JULIA WOLF - Finishing 5th overall in the 50 Free out of a field of 207 13-18 yr old swimmers.
And of course an enormous THANK YOU to the Coaches, who braved the cold and wind for three days to see their swimmers through each and every event. (Note: on Sunday the meet extended Turkey and all the fixins to every coach and official, so don't feel TOO sorry for them).
CSSC LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER
The CSSC Last Chance Qualifier sign-up is TODAY, NOVEMBER 25th.
This meet is open to ALL Paseo Aquatics swimmers-- particularly those who are close to earning a birth at the Winter Age Group Championships in Palm Springs and for those who would like to compete for the very first time.
Please see Coach Mikaela TODAY to complete your entry. The team will be officially submitted into the meet at end of day.
WAG MEET ENTRIES
Swimmers who have qualified for the WINTER AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS in PALM SPRINGS DEC. 13-15th will be meeting with Coaches TODAY to complete your meet entry.
For those who have qualified for numerous events, all swimmers are limited to a total of six (6) races over the course of the weekend-- and no more than three (3) races per day.
Also bear in mind for those swimmers ages 13-Up, there will be PRELIMINARIES in the morning followed by Championship Finals in the afternoon comprised of the Top 10 Prelim Finishers.
Note: Whether a swimmer qualifies for a Championship Final or not, we expect the entire traveling team to return for the Championship races to cheer on their Paseo teammates. There will be many, many teams competing in this Invitational, and our swimmers deserve all the support possible.
Also-- for those swimmers who do not qualify-- feel free to join us in Palm Springs for the weekend and lend your support. It's a great opportunity for those swimmers who will one day qualify to get a taste and feel for big meet competition. And a chance to bond with your Paseo teammates and families.
