SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA JUNIOR OLYMPICS - UPDATE!
Day 1 saw Personal Records fall, an incredible Championship Finals night, and at the end of the day, Paseo Aquatics going home with 2 GOLD MEDALS!
SONALY WINTERMUTE landed the first Gold with an unbelievable swim in the 200 BUTTERFLY, dropping over 2 seconds in the Championship Final after cutting off 2 seconds in her Prelim race. She outdistanced the top 8 field by pulling away in the final 75 yards.
JULIA WOLF then took full advantage of the electricity in the air, and with a huge crowd and her entire team looking on, ripped off a 24.16 in the 50 FREESTYLE Championship Final to take the Gold and post the 2nd fastest time in Southern California this year!
Also placing in the top 8 for the Boys were DARREN CHANG and WILLIAM CHUNG, who swam neck-and-neck in the Championship Final of the 100 BREASTSTROKE against a very tough field.
The entire JO Team is to be congratulated for an incredible Day 1. And now... onto Day 2...
GO PASEO AQUATICS !!
