REBECCA SONI CLINIC CRASH 

Coach Chris Dahowski overwhelmed everyone Saturday, when to a crowd of unsuspecting Paseo Aquatics swimmers and family members, he announced that Gold Medalist REBECCA SONI would be emerging from the locker room.

To everyone's amazement, Rebecca did indeed crash the Saturnday morning clinic in grand style, and along with her dog Kody, spoke to the team for 20 minutes about her upbringing, career highlights, and lessons learned along her incredible Olympic journey.

CENTRAL CALIFORNIA JUNIOR OLYMPICS 

The CENTRAL CALIFORNIA JUNIOR OLYMPICS will be held this weekend, FEBRUARY 14th-17th in BAKERSFIELD, CA.

Meet info is as follows:

SITE: William A. Wheeler Aquatics Complex; 1801 Panorama Drive, Bakersfield, CA (Bakersfield Community College).

HOTEL: Springhill Suites; 3801 Marriott Drive, Bakersfield, CA. 661-377-4000 or Courtyard Marriott, 3601 Marriott Drive, Bakersfield, CA. 661-324-6660.

FRIDAY ARRIVAL: The pool will open for warm-up on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14th at 2:30PM.

We encourage all swimmers to take advantage of the opportunity to get in some laps and acclimate to the pool and environment.

Paseo Aquatics will also have one swimmer-- MADISON McCABE-- swimming the mile on Friday afternoon. We would like to see as many teammates as possible cheering her on.

Details about a FRIDAY EVENING Team Dinner and SATURDAY EVENING get together will be forthcoming.

We are bringing over 40 SWIMMERS to this JO Meet, many of whom should place in the Championship or Consolation Rounds, so be prepared for a lot of back and forth driving from the hotel to the pool.

We expect ALL SWIM FAMILIES to attend the CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS whether your swimmer has qualified for the Finals or not. Team unity is extremely important-- and those who qualify deserve the support of their teammates.

COASTAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The COASTAL CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held FEBRUARY 28th-MARCH 2nd at the BUENAVENTURA SWIM COMPLEX in VENTURA, CA.

The DEADLINE for entering this meet is WEDNESDAY, FRBRUARY 19th.

Please speak with your respective Coaches to confirm whether or not you will be participating-- and if so, in what events you will be competing.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY POLAR PLUNGE

As we announced, our first annual St. Patrick's POLAR PLUNGE will take place SUNDAY, MARCH 16th, to serve as both a team building and fundraising event.

The Plunge will be open to ALL swimmers on the Paseo Aquatics team, who will spend the better part of February and early March collecting sponsors for the fundraiser.

If you did not receive a SPONSOR SIGN-UP FORM, please ask Coach Mikaela for one. Each Sponsor will pay a sum based on the number of Gold Coins their swimmer collects. Each coin is worth 50 CENTS.

On the day of the Plunge, each swimmer will gather as many coins from the pool for as long as they can withstand the water temperature (the heaters will have been turned off for 3 days!). 

Once a swimmer leaves the pool, he/she will take their collection of coins to the official counter, who will determine how much money was earned. Each Sponsor for that respective swimmer will then pay total amount due to the Paseo Aquatics program.

We will have food prepared by the club, a LEPRECHAUN filling the pool with coins, prizes and more!  

This is going to be an exciting and fun-filled event. Family members and friends are welcome to join us in the festivities.
