Paseo Aquatics - News & Notes - Week of February 17, 2014
CENTRAL CALIFORNIA JUNIOR OLYMPICS!
Another banner performance by the Paseo Aquatics swim team, who rode into Bakersfield, California for the 2014 Central California Junior Olympics and left town with a total of 20 GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE MEDALS combined, dominating in every phase of the competition.
Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal winners included:
There were also amazing PERSONAL BEST times earned all weekend long, with highlights including:
There were stories and special moments all throughout the weekend-- too numerous to chronicle-- but perhaps none more important than that of our COACHING STAFF-- one that stood above all others, working both ends of a pool to represent each and every swimmer for 4 straight days.
The Swimmers, the Coaches, the families and friends of Paseo Aquatics proved a tremendous inspiration to the event holders and many other clubs, who couldn't help but notice this team's performance both in the water and out.
We're building something very special here at Paseo... and it's just beginning.

NEW MASTERS HOURS!
Reminder: the new MASTERS SWIM HOURS are as follows:
ST. PATRICK'S DAY POLAR PLUNGE
As we announced, our first annual St. Patrick's POLAR PLUNGE will take place SUNDAY, MARCH 16th, to serve as both a team building and fundraising event.
By now all Paseo Aquatics Swimmers should have received a SPONSOR SIGN-UP FORM. Each Sponsor will pay a sum based on the number of Gold Coins their swimmer collects. Each coin is worth 50 CENTS.
On the day of the Plunge, each swimmer will gather as many coins from the pool for as long as they can withstand the water temperature (the heaters will have been turned off for 3 days!).
Once a swimmer leaves the pool, he/she will take their collection of coins to the official counter, who will determine how much money was earned. Each Sponsor for that respective swimmer will then pay total amount due to the Paseo Aquatics program.
We will have food prepared by the club, a LEPRECHAUN filling the pool with coins, prizes and more!
This is going to be an exciting and fun-filled event. Family members and friends are welcome to join in the festivities.
Feel free to speak with me or any of the coaches if you have any questions.
