PASEO AQUATICS - NEWS & NOTES - WEEK OF APRIL 28th, 2014�
BUENAVENTURA LONG COURSE MEET
What a spectacular weekend of swimming by all of our Paseo Aquatics athletes, spearheaded by the unbelievable performance of SONALY WINTERMUTE, who swept every single event in which she competed, including Personal Bests in the 200 METER BUTTERFLY, 200 IM and 200, 100 and 50 METER FREESTYLE.
Not to be outperformed were the 12-Unders, who spent most of the weekend's morning sessions re-writing the Paseo Aquatics Record Books, including standout races by TEIA SALVINO in the 100 and 50 METER FREESTYLE and 50 METER BACKSTROKE.
The overall results are far too many to mention, but a few noteworthy highlights include those turned in by:

COACH CHRIS DAY - TUESDAY, APRIL 29th
Coach Chris Day has been switched to the last TUESDAY of each month!
Tomorrow, TUESDAY, APRIL 29th will mark the second CHRIS DAY at Paseo, where Coach Chris will work with the BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED and ELITE BRONZE group levels.
As is customary, Coach Chris will be bringing 3 or 4 ELITE GOLD swimmers to lead the lanes.
If you swim in one of these groups-- don't miss tomorrow's practice.
ELITE GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE: CALL-OUT FRIDAY!
This FRIDAY, MAY 2nd will be the first of its kind. All ELITE GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE groups will report to the CASTAIC AQUATICS COMPLEX at 5:15PM for CALL-OUT FRIDAY.
Each swimmer will have the opportunity to "Call-Out" another swimmer from any of the 3 group levels for a challenge swim. The races include any stroke-- IM as well-- of 100 yards (Freestyle may be 50 or 100 Yards).
The operative word is "Challenge," meaning the goal is not to select a swimmer you know you can beat; rather find a competitor who will CHALLENGE you in that event.
Each swimmer will be awarded 2 Call-Out races. But beware... there is no limit to the number of times a swimmer can be "Called Out." It's possible one swimmer may be asked to compete numerous times-- so have your game face on.
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND LONG COURSE MEET
The team's next swim meet will be the MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND LONG COURSE MEET on MAY 23-25 (Fri, Sat & Sun-- No Events on Mon, Memorial Day) to be held at the SANTA CLARITA AQUATICS CENTER.

SWIM MEET vs WAVES HOA - JUNE 8th, 2014
Paseo Aquatics is hosting a swim meet against the WAVES HOA swim club on SUNDAY, JUNE 8th at THE PASEO CLUB.
This will be a huge event for our team, as we anticipate a meet with over 100 swimmers and 300-400 family members from both clubs in attendance.
We will need all volunteer hands on deck-- literally-- to pull this off.
The meet will require volunteers for timing, registration, snack table, meet set-up and break down. Emails will be forthcoming with more details.
This meet will be geared primarily for swimmers in the Elite Bronze, Advanced, Intermediate and Beginner levels; however, the Waves team will make the final call with respect to the highest level of swimmers they enlist. If need be, we will call upon our Silver and Gold groups to participate.
If Silver and Gold groups do not compete, we expect as many of those swimmers as possible to volunteer at the meet and be there to cheer their younger swimmers to victory :)
TEAM MEETING
There will be a TEAM MEETING this WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30th, 4:30PM at the PASEO CLUB POOL (shallow end).
Topics will include the upcoming MEMORIAL DAY SWIM MEET, the hosted swim meet against the WAVES HOA, the Finalized SUMMER PRACTICE SCHEDULE and much more.
