NEWS & NOTES - WEEK OF JULY 7th, 2014
Here's hoping everyone has returned safely from an enjoyable and well-deserved 4th of July weekend.
With any luck you've all caught up on some much-needed rest because we now march headstrong into the teeth of the Long Course Season. Beginning next week, many of our swimmers will be competing in one or all of the following meets:

We have selected the
HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS on N. HOWARD STREET as the site for
the Swim Team's HOME BASE.
For those new to the team, we like to select a primary hotel as a "camp" for the purposes of conducting meetings, team meals and parent get-togethers.
This region of Fresno-- though 12-15 minutes from the Pool Site-- offers many more options for restaurants, shopping, etc than the area at which the meet will be held.
The
Holiday
Inn Express has several 2- Queen Bedrooms available, but space is limited and the rooms will go quickly.
Make your Reservations ASAP!
Due to the overwhelming need for Double-Bedded rooms, we have also selected 3 additional hotels at which to secure lodging-- all within WALKING distance of the Team Hotel.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA JUNIOR OLYMPICS - JULY 23-27, 2014

This meet is an option for 15-18 swimmers who have achieved Western Zone time standards and are unable to compete in their primary events at Central JOs; for swimmers who have achieved SoCal qualifying times but cannot travel to Central JOs; or for those swimmers who would like to compete in BOTH Junior Olympic meets.
The deadline for committing to the SoCal JOs is MONDAY, JULY 7th, 2014.
CA-NV SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - JULY 23-27, 2014
CLOVIS NORTH AQUATICS COMPLEX

This meet is open only to those who have achieved the 2014 SECTIONAL TIME STANDARDS.
Sectionals will be held the same weekend as SoCal JOs, so for those who qualify, please advise your Coach if you intend to Commit.
Paseo Aquatics will have a USA-Swimming Coach dispatched to both the SOCAL and SECTIONAL meets.
The deadline for committing to Sectionals is MONDAY, JULY 7th, 2014.
PASEO AQUATICS TEAM BANQUET
By now you have all received an EVITE for the PASEO AQUATICS
TEAM
BANQUET, to be held
MONDAY, AUGUST 11th, 6:00PM at the KNOLLWOOD COUNTRY CLUB.
Many of you have indicated you are planning to attend but have not yet registered.
Space is filling quickly and we are approaching the JULY 25th DEADLINE at which point we can no longer accept reservations!
Upon receipt of the Invitation, you must OPEN the Evite and select both an ENTREE and PAYMENT option (the Credit Card on your website account or check made payable to Paseo Aquatics).
REMEMBER: Your reservation is secure ONLY when payment has been received for the full amount due. Submitting just an RSVP alone will not guarantee your place at the event.

August 11th, in what we know will be a very special evening.
TEAM MEETING - THURSDAY, JULY 10th - 4:30PM
There will be a Team Meeting this
THURSDAY, JULY 10th, 4:30PM at the PASEO CLUB POOL (shallow end).
Topics will include the upcoming SWIM MEET SCHEDULE, the TEAM BANQUET, the
AUGUST 15th-
31st ENROLLMENT PERIOD and an update on PRACTICE FACILITIES heading into the 2014/15 season.
