PASEO AQUATICS - NEWS & NOTES - WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 29, 2014

PASEO PIGSKIN PICNIC A HUGE SUCCESS!

Thank you, Paseo Families, for making our Sunday afternoon picnic and football game a tremendous success for the second year in a row!

The weather was ideal, the food was fantastic, and the parents outshined their younger counterparts in what will certainly be a grudge match year-in, year out.

MVP Honors go to KEVIN CHUNG, who hauled in two diving touchdown catches and an interception-- all without pulling a hamstring!

A heartfelt shout-out to LACY PACK, who left the game yesterday with an undisclosed foot injury. We wish you the best and a speedy recovery. Just curious... were you anywhere in the vicinity of Dave Wintermute when it happened...??

A very special thanks to KELLY DAVIS and TRACY TOLEDO for displaying all the team Spirit Wear which they spent the last 4 weeks putting together-- and given the number of people under their canopy all afternoon, it was obviously a huge success.

You can place orders for your spirit wear with KELLY DAVIS at: [email protected]

Lastly-- thank you to DESIREE and DARREL TISDALE for picking up the last of the picnic leftovers. Thanks to their efforts, they were able to recover the following for anyone who wishes to claim them:

-- White Serving Spoon
-- Large amount of Plasticware (forks, spoons, knives) and Cups.
-- Several bags of chips
-- A Notebook and Jacket (name on the notebook is Gleason). These two items were left at the Paseo Club front desk.
-- ALSO, and very important, the Tisdales are missing a small rubber REDSKINS football. Please check your cars and bags to see if this football came home with you. If so-- please return it to one of the Coaches or me at swim practice today. Thank you.

And thanks for joining us on your Sunday afternoon. The 3rd Annual Paseo Pigskin Picnic is already in the works!

PASEO AQUATICS BLACK & WHITE SWIM MEET

The Paseo Aquatics BLACK & WHITE SWIM MEET is fast approaching ( OCTOBER 11TH) and we still have many swimmers yet to Commit.

This is a MANDATORY swim meet for all Group Levels!

In addition to the opportunity to swim in a familiar and friendly environment with your fellow Paseo swimmers, this meet will take a unique approach.

The Coaching Staff will divide themselves AND every Paseo Aquatics swimmer into two separate squads-- forming a BLACK and WHITE team-- and setting the stage for an intrasquad "Dual Meet."

Upon close of Registration, the Coaches will select their respective swimmers in a "Draft" type format, building their teams on a hand-picked basis.

The day before the meet, the BLACK & WHITE rosters will be posted (via email) so each swimmer can see on which team they have been placed. And word has it, the Coaches are placing some serious "internal" bets as to which Coaching Staff will emerge victorious.

This meet is a SATURDAY-ONLY event and should wrap up by NOON on that day. Warm-Up will begin at 7:00AM. Competition will start promptly at 8:00AM.

This is going to be an exciting and unique swim meet. But it also represents an important opportunity for ALL of our swimmers to get a taste of swim competition. It is imperative every Paseo Aquatics swimmer register for this BLACK & WHITE meet.

If you are a new swim family and not certain how to COMMIT or REGISTER for the meet, please speak directly to one of your Coaches or contact MIKE LEATHERS ( [email protected]) in our IT Department.

ALSO: Please visit the TEAM WEBSITE for JOB SIGN-UPS! We need all hands on deck-- literally!
