12 & Unders bring some heat at the Triad Tropic
12 & Under Swimmers had a great showing at STAR Triad Tropic meet.
Coaches saw a lot of hard work from our practices show up in the races.
The big pool at GAC was no measure for the fight in our swimmers.
There are several metrics that coaches are able to identify at the meet. Coaches will carry those notes back and help
tailor practices to cover the things we see. A quick reminder of the 4 key areas to improve in athletics:
1 - Attitude (set an attitude of will try, not cannot)
2 - Technique (continue to work with coaches to make changes)
3 - Strength (dryland is key. water is heavy and we're trying to move more of it than the person beside us)
4 - Endurance (attendance to practice is the best way to do all of those and get more time repeating good behaviors)
The most common metric is time. This is the one that most people measure 'success' in our sport. Which is a good measure; because we can all see it and understand - one time is faster than another. We will highlight times in these posts, because it is objective and we all understand it. Time is a metric, not the only metric.
Stats:
*25 splashes (times the swimmers left the blocks)
*5 swimmers attended
*19 PBT (personal best time)
*3 - DQs (learning is part of the process)
Congrats for each EVERY swimmer setting a new PBT in at least 1 event.

Special congrats to:
Joel B and Everly R for a near perfect time drop weekend.

USA SWIMMING Motivational Times
**USA Swimming uses a 4 year period to set a standard of times to establish levels within the sport.
of over 450,000 swimmers they calculate the average times of those swimmers then give them a designator.
The designators range from B to AAAA. (B, BB, A , AA, AAA, AAAA)
New BB times
Ashley B = 200 IM & 50 Back
New B times:
Ashley B = 200 Free & 100 Free
GREAT SWIMS . . . let's keep that energy going back at our practices.
