We have put together a list for each group to help all swimmers and parents understand the required equipment for each practice. All groups should have goggles and a water bottle as well as the equipment listed below. We encourage swimmers to wear caps at practice as well but they are not required.
Developmental 1 and 2:
Kick board and fins
Bronze :
Kick board, pull buoy, and fins
Silver, Gold, and Senior:
Kick board, pull buoy, fins, paddles , front line snorkel, and nose clip. For dryland: yoga matt, gym shoes.
*The most important piece of equipment for our swimmers is a water bottle.
Swimmers should carry equipment in an equipment or drag bag that comes to the practice lanes with them for practice. All equipment should be clearly marked with swimmer name.
Swimmers must have a team suit for swim meets.
Swimmers may wear suits of their choice for practice, but it must be a competitive style swimming suit that fits snuggly.
Please, no lace, ruffles, or ties.
Swimmers need to be in a team cap at all swim meets as well as team shirts.

Goggles: Here is what to look for for best fit:
-
Double straps that go around the back of the head. Having 2 points / angles of pull and contact eliminates the goggle from being torn off during a dive.
-
Adjustable nose piece is frequently over looked, and the cause for many leaking goggles.
-
Straps and nose pedicels can have excess materials trimmed off.
-
-
Outside swimming should have mirrored tint to repel sun rays and improve vision.
-
Inside / night swimming should be clear, or yellowish. Dark blues, reds, and tints make it darker than necessary to see.
-
Seal on the eye is pretty subjective. Silicone seals are the most consistent. Rubber seals are hit and miss. Hard plastic / Swedish style goggles are hard for swimmers to get used to.
-
-
Fins:
-
Fins should be snug - like a ski boot. Try on wet.
-
Prefer the Speedo biofuse or TYR crossblade fins, not zoomers.
-
-
Paddles & buoy: Prefer the Finis agility paddle.
-
The manufacturer should have a suggested sizing chart. When in doubt on size, go small. About an inch radius longer than the swimmer's hand is perfect.
- Pull buoys are the Styrofoam floats that go between a swimmers legs for pull sets. For smaller swimmers, please do not get large size buoys - they will cause difficulty using.
