Coach Colin Browning brings disciplined leadership, multisport expertise, and a team-oriented approach to coaching, shaped by competitive achievements in swimming, rowing, sailing, and soccer, alongside extensive experience developing young athletes across disciplines.
A member of the high school 400-yard freestyle relay team that set pool and school records while qualifying for state championships in 1999, he graduated from the United States Naval Academy (Class of 2003), competing as a plebe on the Men’s Heavyweight Crew team—building resilience, strategic focus, and collaborative excellence.
Colin further refined his coaching through roles guiding youth athletes: as sailing team coach for a New England high school and the University of Washington ROTC Sailing team, and as an AYSO 8U soccer coach in San Diego, where he emphasized fundamentals, teamwork, and joyful participation for beginners.
Now an assistant swim coach at Life Time, he works primarily with the Development team, applying USA Swimming’s Athlete Development Model and its 4 Cs—Confidence, Competence, Connection, and Character—to foster collective growth, strong technical foundations, and a supportive environment that helps young swimmers thrive long-term in the sport and beyond
