Eric Adams Head Coach / Senior 3 Coach

Eric is a native of Grand Junction, Colorado, where he grew up swimming for the Grand Junction Dolphins.  He was a Junior National qualifier in the 200 Breaststroke in 1997. He attended the University of North Dakota where he was a four your member of the men’s swimming team and helped the team to 3 North Central Conference titles.  He has been involved in the sport of swimming since the age of 7.

He is an ASCA Level 3 coach and has been coaching since 2001. He has worked with swimmers of all ages and abilities to include high performance age group and senior swimmers, collegiate swimmers, high school and recreational swimmers.  He has coached numerous State qualifiers and champions, Zone and Sectional qualifiers and finalists.

Andrew Webber Associate Head/Gold/Senior 3 Coach
Andrew grew up all over Colorado and started swimming year round when he was five years old. While in Colorado, Andrew swam for Castle Rock Swim Team and Castle View High School for multiple years. After graduating high school, he went to the University of Wyoming and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and also played water polo for 4 years.
   
After graduating college and spending a few months teaching overseas, Andrew was the assistant coach for the Fort Collins Boys High School swim team and the Fort Collins Area Swim Team.  While with FAST he worked with swimmers anywhere from learning to swim to Junior National qualifiers.  Andrew has been the Head Coach of the Lifetime Fitness Westminster site and Northglenn Fusion Swim Club. While with these programs, Andrew helped to bring in an increasing number of State, Sectional, Zone, and Futures qualifiers.
 
Andrew’s Coaching philosophy is based on positive reinforcement, teaching proper technique, pushing swimmers to achieve in and out of the water, and having a little fun!  In his free time Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife Nicole and their husky Mira.

 

 

 

Shelly Drozda Head Age Group Coach, Black/Gray Coach

Shelly grew up swimming for the Front Range Barracudas in Thornton, CO ever since 2006. She was a dual athlete in high school, competing both in track and swimming at the state level. She is excited to be back on the team she grew up swimming and competing for! During her time with Cuda’s, she was a National Top 10 ranked swimmer, National Select Camp attendee, 6 time high school All-American, and a 2016 Olympic Trials qualifier. In college, she competed at Indiana University for two years where she was a Big10 Distinguished Scholar; gaining Academic All-American Honorable Mention status. After Indiana, she completed her swimming career at Florida State University earning The Golden Torch Award and the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award for her studies in Sport Management. During her time at Florida State, she accumulated several all-time top 10 times for the program before finishing her college career in 2019. 

 

Shelly is excited to help grow the Cuda community by providing foundational training for age group swimmers and by bringing an upbeat attitude every day at practice! Her experience working summer swim camps, coaching for Mountain Range and Thornton Master’s- along with her swimming career- has given her a diverse background working with swimmers of all ages & abilities. She is ecstatic to give back to the team that helped shape her as an athlete and into the person she is today!  

Alan Cobb Senior 1 & 2 Coach

Alan is a longtime member of the Northern Colorado Swimming community. He began swimming competitively at age six and swam though high school competing at state and national levels. Beginning his coaching career during his college years while attending CSU, Alan has coached age-group swimmers though regional/national athletes. He served as head age group coach at Longmont Swim Club for seven years while head coaching the Girls and Boy's team at Mountain View High School for four years and more recently head coach for the girls team at Greeley Central High School for three. He also served Colorado Swimming as the Age-Group Coordinator for the state. Alan is also a Hign School science teacher.  Cuda is lucky to have him since 2010!

Nick Foster Lead Site Coach BCC Silver/White Coach
Nick has been swimming since the age 7. Growing up in Leawood Kansas, Nick was a member of the Rockhurst High School Aquahawks and Kansas City Blazers. In his high school years,   he helped bring home 4 high school state championships, qualify for Jr. Nationals, and become a Sectional Champ. Nick went on to swim at Xavier University where he continued to find success in and out of the pool, becoming a school record holder, conference champion, conference MVP, and the Xavier University Male Scholar Athlete of the year in 2016. Nick Graduated with a degree in Economics but couldn't stay away from the pool. He is excited to be a part of the Front Range Barracudas and coach the next generation of swimmers.
 
Chad White Red Group Coach

Chad has coached for many years on and off - he is an incredible addition to our team!. Chad has coached kids of all ages, including adults, and athletes for triathlons. The team went from 25 swimmers to over 200 in a few short years. Coach Chad has had swimmers go on to swim at some of the highest levels, including Olympic Trials, and All Americans.

Chad swam on the Broomfield Barracudas as a age group swimmer. Through his leadership, the kids not only learn correct stroke technique, but also develop a lasting love for the sport. Chad places great emphasis on the development of proper swim technique.

Married since 2003, living in Broomfield, he enjoys spending time with his two boys and wife camping and RC racing.

Perri Otto Developmental and Adv Dev Coach

Perri is excited to be coaching with the CUDAS soince 2018!  A Colorado native, Perri began her swimming career with the Westminster Flippers at the age of four and continued her swimming career as a member of the Legacy High School girls varsity swim team. In conjunction with her time spent in the pool, Perri began her coaching career at the age of 15 as an assistant coach with the Westminster Flippers, then served as head coach for five years. She holds bachelor degrees in Speech Communication and Political Science and her Masters in Public Administration. In addition to coaching, Perri is a nanny to three wonderful children and in her spare time she likes to paddleboard, travel, and spend time with her rescue dogs! Coach Perri is a firm believer that the coach-swimmer relationship is an equal partnership. She encourages her swimmers to swim every stroke, set and meet with purpose and to work with her to achieve the best versions of themselves, on and off the deck.

Elizabeth Wompey Assistant Coach

Coach Elizabeth is a Colorado native who has been part of the swimming world since she was 8 years old.  Her love for swimming atarted when she began competing for the Applewood Knolls summer club team. She refined her skill and grew to love the sport as she transitioned to club  swimming at age 13.  The competed in the Senior group of the Nort Jeffco swim team for 5 years.  She loves all distance freesytle events and 200 backstroke.  Elizabeth continued swimming in college where she swam Division I at Youngstown State University for 2 years.  Her swim career came to an early end due to injusry byt her love and passion for the sport remain.

 

As a coach at CUDA, Elizabeth strives to help swimmers improve their technique, grow a love for swimming and exel as individuals both in and out of the pool. Elzabeth holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and is pursuing a Master's degree.  When she is not at the pool, she enjoys cycling and pilates, working on creative art projects, and spending time with her cat Lucy.

Alex Henderson Assistant Coach

Alex grew up swimming for Vortex Swim Club in Fort Collins, CO. After four years swimming for Whitworth University up in Washington he is happy to be back home and surrounded by the swimming community he spent so much time in. Breaststroke and Distance were his main events, consistently placing top three in the Pacific Northwest Conference throughout College in the 200 Breast. Alex loved investing in his team as a swimmer and looks forward to giving the same commitment as a coach.

Swimming has been a very formative part of his life and his main goal at Cuda is to foster the same love for swimming while helping the swimmers to reach their goals. He believes all sports teams should focus on making great people, not just great athletes.

Mackenzie Saenz Assistant Coach

Coach Mackenzie has been a long time member of the Cudas. Mackenzie began swimming at the age of seven and swam competitively through high school as a Cuda swimmer where she competed at the state and national level meets. Mackenzie began her coaching career at the age of 17, coaching a local CARA swim team before returning to Cuda. As a coach, Mackenzie hopes to instill a love of swimming in a new generation of swimmers. Outside of the pool, Mackenzie works as a speech-language pathologist, enjoys re ading and spending time with her family and dog. Go Cuda!!

Kaylie Prince Strength & Conditioning Director

Kaylie is a Colorado native who grew up swimming, playing volleyball, and running track. She went on to play collegiate and then professional volleyball with a brief stint as a collegiate swimmer. Kaylie swam butterfly in the 200 and 400 Medley relay, as well as a 200 fly individually. Aside from her goldendoodle, Gretzky, Kaylie’s favorite thing in life is to help athletes meet their potential. A degree in biology and psychology coupled with several other certifications including ones from NASM and USASC has helped Kaylie take an extensive list of athletes to the next level. Kaylie’s swimming background, ability to help athletes understand “the why”, and overall passion for the sport will without doubt help the Front Range Barracudas reach new heights!

Gail Royce Mental Health & Strength Director

Coach Gail, Mental Performance Coach, has been working with the CUDA swimmers since 2014. As a gym owner and head coach for 20+ years, Gail coached pre-school gymnasts through national level competitors. After retiring from coaching she returned to school and earned a degree in psychology/sport psychology from Regis University. During that time Coach Gail did event work with the U.S. Olympic Committee, working on 3 U.S. Olympic Festivals and an International Olympic Congress. She also had the awesome opportunities of being on the event staff for the Winter X Games in Crested Butte and USA Gymnastics at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

Gail has spent the last 20+ years working as a Mental Performance Coach with numerous athletes, teams, coaches and parents. Her athletes range from youth to Masters and from high level club athletes to Elite, Professional and Olympic level competitors. She currently works with athletes in over 20 sports. As a Colorado native, Gail attended Bear Creek High School and Colorado State University, competing as a gymnast at both schools. She loves the Colorado outdoors participating in snowshoeing, cross country and downhill skiing, cycling, mountain biking and hiking. She has also competed in numerous running races, cycling races, duathlons and triathlons.
