Club Wolverine Practice Information
What do I need to bring to practice?
- A suit, goggles, swim cap and towel are a great start!
- Click here to view our Equipment and Apparel page for a list of equipment needed for your practice group.
- For practices that include Dryland, shoes are required.
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn, have fun, and make friends!
What time is practice, and when should I get there?
- Click here to view up-to-date practice schedules for Maize, Blue and Senior groups.
- We ask that all swimmers are at the pool and ready to go 15 minutes before their practice starts. This allows swimmers time to prepare for practice, talk with coaches, and help moving lane lines if we need to convert the pool from one format to another.
Where do I go when I get to the pool?
- You can view our two practice locations below along with details on where to go when you get to the pool.
- At University of Michigan's Canham Natatorium:
- Turn into the lot off of Hoover Ave and park/ drop-off your swimmer in the lot directly south of the pool.
- Swimmers are asked to enter through the "Museum Entrance," which is located on the northwest end of the outdoor track.
- Walk towards the track from the parking lot, turn left around the track and enter the double-doors.
- Once inside, enter the glass doors to the left, and follow the hallway to the right to reach the pool/ pool bleachers.
- We ask that swimmers put their bags in the pool bleachers and remain in the bleachers if University of Michigan sports are finishing a practice.
- At Eastern Michigan University's Jones Natatorium:
- Swimmers can be dropped off and picked up directly in front of EMU's Rec/IM building, which houses the pool, via E Circle Drive.
- W Circle Drive can also be used for drop-off and pick-up at the furthest Northeast corner of the loop. From there, swimmers will walk north on the sidewalk and the Rec/IM building and entrance will be on their left.
- If a swimmer is driving themselves, or a parent needs parking while at EMU, please consult EMU's parking pass information site here.
- Swimmers can enter through the Rec/IM building's main entrance. They will need to check in at the front desk as a CW swimmer.
- New swimmers will need to get an access card made. Please show up early to your first practice at EMU.
