Dual Meet Against American Heritage (Plantation)
Pine Crest defeated State rival American Hertiage Plantation today in boys and girls swimming and diving, the final scores were 124 to 55 for the boys and 111 to 75 for the girls. The boys opened up with a strong perfomance in the 200 Medley Relay going 1-3; while the Lady Panthers were 2nd and 3rd in the same relay.
Brittany Hammond won the 200 free with Hannah Veale placing 3rd and Savanna Gornisiewisz placing 4th, then Thomas Veale and Austin Evenson went 1-2 for the boys 200 free. State Champion, Lindsey McKnight won the 200IM, for American Hertiage, while PC went 2,3,4 with Alina Schulhofer, Rebecca Aiello and Mallory McKeon. AH won the 200IM but PC went 2,3,4,5 with Michal Rokita, Adam Dear, Ryan Walter, and Thomas Doolittle. The 50 free was a 1-2 punch for both the girls and boys with Stephanie Moeller and Kaelah Chaney along with Marcel Betschart and Descartes Holland.
Jennifer Aguirre won the girls diving with Carly Ehrlich, Ebony Calloway, Juliette Pozzuoli placing 3,4,5 and in the boys diving Connor Gerrits and Daniel Drevel went 1-2. In the 100 fly, Alina Schulhofer was 2nd, with Miriyam Ghali and Anastasia Hediger placing 3rd and 4th. On the boys side it was Adam Dear, Thomas Veale and Nate Legum placing 3,4,5. Brittany Hammond and Lindsey Swartz were 2nd and 3rd in the 100 free with Savanna Gornisiewisz placing 5th, and for the boys it was Marcel Betschart, Descartes Holland, John Rudnik, placing 2,3,4. In the 500 free, Rebecca Aiello, Mallory McKeon, Hailey Kelly placed 2,3,4 while the boys went 1,2,3 in the 500 with Austin Evenson, Armand Aguirre, and Alex Evenson.
PC dominated the 200 free relays with both the girls and boys going 1-2 in both races to secure the team victory. Stephanie Moeller and Miriyam Ghali were 2,3 in the 100 back while Armand Aguirre won the 100 back for boys with Ryan Walter placing 3rd. Lindsey Swartz and Kalah Chaney went 1-2 in the 100 breast with Anastasia Hediger placing 4th. Michal Rokita won the 100 breast with Thomas Doolittle, and Edward Walker placing 3,4. The Lady Panthers were 2nd and 3rd in the 400 free relay while the boys won and placed 3rd to close out the meet.
Next up for Pine Crest is Ransom Everglades here at PC on Friday, Oct. 8, the record for Pine Crest is now 3-1 for both girls and boys.
