PC moves to 7-1 in Girls & Boys High School Swimming

Pine Crest took on 2A State Champions Belen Jesuit and University School in a boys double dual meet and the Lady Panthers went against University School and Our Lady of Lourdes.  The boys team scores were Pine Crest 156- Belen 143- University 77, in the girls it was Pine Crest 207- University 91- Our Lady of Lourdes 62.

It was a very close meet between Pine Crest and Belen in the boys and it took a total team effort for Pine Crest to win as Belen won most of the races, but Pine Crest won the 200 Medley Relay, with the team of Marcel Betschart, Michal Rokita, Adam Dear, Descartes Holland; and Marcel Betschart won the 100 back with Michal Rokita winning the 100 breast.  Belen won the rest of the events, however, in most of the events that Pine Crest did not win the Panthers were able to go 2,3,4 to keep the scoring close and pull out the overall victory and move the boys team record to 7-1 for the season.

The girls dominated both University and Our Lady of Lourdes and won almost every event, Pine Crest won all three relays and Alina Schulhofer won the 200 free and 100 back; Brittany Hammond won the 50 and 100 free; and Jennifer Aguirre won the diving to make the girls team record 7-1.

Our next and final dual meet of the season will be against our rival from Boca, St. Andrews here at Pine Crest on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 4:30pm.  This will be your final chance to see the team in action at home before the State playoffs series start with the District Championship meet at St. Andrews on Oct. 30.  We are looking for a strong turn out from the students and faculty to cheer on your favorite Panther and help us close out our 2010 dual meet season.

It is Great to be a Pine Crest Panther!
