Pine Crest High School Results
Pine Crest Swimming and Diving closed out the High School season on a very high note with another outstanding TEAM performance as the Panthers were State Runner Up in both the Girls and Boys State Championship meet, this past week. Going into the season the word on the street from several high school coaches in Broward, Dade and Palm Beach counties was this year Pine Crest would not be as strong and that teams such as St. Andrews, American Heritage, and Cardinal Gibbons were going to move past Pine Crest in the District, Region and State championships meets. While it is true that those schools have improved a great deal from the past year and added several strong swimmers to their programs, Pine Crest continued to show, that it is the strength of the TEAM, that determines outcome at the Championship meets.
The Panthers finished the dual meet season with an 8-1 record in boys and an 8-1 record in girls, with their only loss to Bolles. Pine Crest was the District Champion for boys and District Champion for girls; Region Champion for boys and Region Champion for girls; State Runner Up for boys and State Runner Up for girls. The scores in a dual meet or championship meet are separate for each team as each team is an independent part of the overall Athletic program.
