Double WINS for PC Girls & Boys

After several weeks of weather delays and cancel meets, Pine Crest finally opened the dual meet season with a double victory over 2A State Champions Boca High and 1A rivals Ransom Everglades.  Swimming at the brand new Boca High Aquatic Center, the Panthers proved that it is the TEAM concept that leads to victory.  Boca High and Ransom had their share of wins throughout the meet but it was the TEAM performance of Pine Crest the produced the victory for both the men and women of Pine Crest.

Final scores Pine Crest vs Boca High Men 105.50-80.50; Pine Crest vs Ransom men 136-47; Pine Crest Lady Panthers 113- Ransom 72; Pine Crest Lady Panthers 120- Boca High 65.

Ransom won the opening 200 Medley Relay for girls with Pine Crest taking 2nd and Boca High 3rd.  Then Brittany Hammond won the 200 free for women; with Sabrina Gornisiewicz and Rebecca Sadler scoring points for the Lady Panthers.  Lindsey Swartz and Mallory McKeon were 2nd and 3rd with Anastasia Hediger scoring points in the 200 IM.  In the 50 free Hannah Veale and Kaelah Chaney provided strong points and then the PC Divers went 1-2-3 with Carolyn Chaney, Carly Ehrlich, Juliette Pozzuouli.

The 100 fly was another strong event for PC as Brittany Hammond and Tyla Martin went 1-2 and Miriyan Ghali placed 4th; the 100 free saw value points being added to the team total with the performance of Hannah Veale and Rebecca Sadler.  The 500 free always a good event for Pine Crest had Mallory McKeon, Sabrina Gornisiewicz, Jamie Flores giving solid points to the Panthers.  Pine Crest won the 200 Free Relay with the team of Kaelah Chaney, Lindsey Swartz, Hannah Veale, Brittany Hammond.  

Tayla Martin won the 100 back, with Miriyam Ghali and Jamie Flores providing strong points, while in the 100 breast, Lindsey Swartz, Kaelah Chaney, Anastasia Hediger placed 2,3,4 and then the Lady Panthers closed out the meet with a victory in the 400 Free Relay, with Brittany Hammond, Mallory McKeon, Hannah Veale, Tyla Martin.

Boca High won the men 200 Medley Relay with Pine Crest placing 2nd, then in the 200 free Gotti Eisenberger, Austin Evenson, Kent Haeffner went 1-3-4 to put everyone on notice that this would be a TEAM battle.  In the 200 IM Adam Dear, Alex Evenson, John Rudnik continued to add points for PC, as did Descartes Holland, Marcel Betschart, and Christiaan Bijlsma in the 50 free.

The PC Divers again gave a big points as Connor Gerrits and Lyle Macaluso teamed up to go 1-2, with Austin Fields bringing in more points for Pine Crest.  In the 100 fly Adam Dear, Ryan Walter, and Thomas Doolittle gave more points to Pine Crest.  Then Gotti Eisenberger won the 100 free with Delaney Brock and Descartes Holland giving more points to the TEAM total.

Pine Crest distance always a strong point for the Panthers, closed the door on both Boca High and Ransom with a 1-2-3 finish by Austin Evenson, Kent Haeffner, and Alex Evenson.  And then in the race of the meet the men 200 free relay, PC came out on top by .06 seconds, when the team of Gotti Eisenberger, Delaney Brock, Austin Evenson, Descartes Holland out touched a very talented team from Boca High 1:29.11 to 1:29.17.

In the 100 back Marcel Betschart, Ryan Walter, Delaney Brock kept adding up more points for Pine Crest, as did Thomas Doolittle, Edward Walker, and Jack Cawley in the 100 breast.  Pine Crest closed out the meet with a commanding victory in the 400 Free Relay with the team of Marcel Betschart, Delaney Brock, Adam Dear, Gottie Eisenberger.

Pine Crest will go to St. Andrews on September 29, to take on a very strong Scots team that is looking to defeat the Panthers.  The meet will start at 5pm at St Andrews School in Boca Raton, please come out and support your Panthers!
