Girls & Boys WIN over Saint Andrews
Pine Crest went to St. Andrews School in Boca Raton on Tuesday to take on the "Scots" in what is turning out to be one of our best dual meets of the season every year. While the results are "Unofficial" it appears from how Coach David and Coach Mariusz were keeping score that the Panthers won both the boys and girls meet. The boys meet was clearly won by Pine Crest as the Panthers dominated most of the events. If our scoring is correct the Lady Panthers won by 4 points. So once again it was a TEAM effort that provided the victory.
The meet was delayed several times due to Lighting Alert and this also caused some problems with the Timing System and the Meet Computers "talking to each other" that is why we will have to wait until later tomorrow to get the "official" results. But here are some "unofficial" highlights.
The Lady Panthers opened up with a strong 1-2 finish in the 200 Medley Relay, with the teams of Tyla Martin, Lindsey Swartz, Miriyam Ghali, Brittany Hammond getting the win and the team of Jamie Flores, Kaelah Chaney, Casey Francis, Hannah Veale securing 2nd. St. Andrews won the 200 free, but Casey Francis and Mallory McKeon were 2nd and 3rd to keep the score in favor of Pine Crest. The 200 IM saw another 2-3 finish by Brittany Hammond and Lindsey Swartz, and it was the same in the 50 free as Hannah Veale and Kaelah Chaney went 2-3. Then the Divers went 2-3-4, with Carolyn Chaney, Carly Ehlrich and Juliette Pozzuoli.
In the second half of the meet the Lady Panthers came out strong as Tyla Martin won the 100 fly with Miriyam Ghali placing 3rd, then Brittany Hammond won the 100 free with Hannah Veale placing 4th. In the 500 free Casey Francis was 2nd, with Mallory McKeon, 3rd and Sabrina Gornisiewicz, 5th. In a very close 200 Free Relay, St. Andrews just outtouched Pine Crest by .03 seconds. The 100 back was a strong event for PC as Tyla Martin, Miriyam Ghali and Jamie Flores went 2,3,4; then Lindsey Swartz, Kaelah Chaney, Anastasia Hediger put the Panthers out in front with a 1-2-3 finish in the 100 breast. After that all Pine Crest needed to do was finish 3rd in the 400 Free Relay to secure the win which they did, but again the score is "unofficial" 94-91.
St. Andrews opened the boys meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay, but after that Pine Crest took control of the meet, going 1-2-3 in the 200 free with Adam Dear, Niklas Friederici, and Kent Haeffner. The 200 IM had Gotti Eisenberger, Michal Rokita, Austin Evenson, placing 2,34. In the 50 free Delaney Brock and Descartes Holland went 2,3 and then the Divers went 1-2-3, with Conner Gerrits, Austin Fields, and Hunter Fields. Adam Dear won the 100 fly, with Ryan Walter and Austin Evenson, placing 3,4. Delaney Brock and Kent Haeffner scored in the 100 free. Niklas Friederici and Alex Evenson went 1-2 in the 500 free with Descartes Holland scoring as well. Pine Crest won the 200 Free Relay with Gotti Eisenberger, Delaney Brock, Adam Dear, and Kent Haeffner. The 100 back was won by Gotti Eisenberger with Ryan Walter scoring as well. The 100 breast was won by Michal Rokita with Thomas Doolittle and Edward Walker scoring points. The Panthers closed out the meet with a victory in the 400 Free Relay with the team of Gotti Eisenberger, Descartes Holland, Ryan Walter, and Austin Evenson.
