PC Girls and Boys defeat Gulliver Prep
Pine Crest Swimming and Diving defeated Gulliver Prep today (October 14) with the boys score 204-52; and the Lady Panthers won 193-48. This moves the dual meet record for Pine Crest to 4-0 for both the boys and the girls team.
The Panthers opened the meet extremely strong going 1-2 in both the girls and the boys 200 Medley Relay, then it was a 1,2,3 sweep for the girls in the 200 free with Tyla Martin, Miriyam Ghali, Anastasia Hediger and it was the same for the boys as Niklas Friederici, Kent Haeffner, Alex Evenson went 1,2,3. The 200 IM was another sweep for the girls with Brittany Hammond, Casey Francis, and Sabrina Gornisiewicz. Then Austin Evenson won the 200 IM, with Thomas Doolittle placing 3rd. In the 50 free, Lindsey Swartz and Hailey Kelly went 1-2, as did Gotti Eisenberger and Christian Bijlsma. It was another sweep in the girls diving with Carolyn Chaney, Juliette Pozzuouli, Carly Ehrlich and the same in boys diving with Connor Gerrits, Austin Fields, Hunter Fields, and Jack Osborn.
The second half of the meet was again dominated by Pine Crest, in the 100 fly it was Casey Francis, Brittany Hammond, Hannah Veale going 1,2,3. Michal Rokita won the boys 100 fly with Alex Evenson and John Rudnik placing 3,4. In the 100 free it was Tyla Martin, Miriyam Ghali, Hailey Kelly going 1,2,3 and for the boys it was Adam Dear, Niklas Friederici, Austin Evenson. In the 500 free Kaelah Chaney and Jamie Flores went 1-2; and Gotti Eisenberger, Kent Haeffner, Michal Rokita were 1,2,3.
Pine Crest won both the girls and boys 200 free relay, and in the 100 back it was Jamie Flores, Hannah Veale, Sabrina Gornisiewicz and Adam Dear, Marcel Betschart, John Rudnik going 1,2,3. The 100 breast had Lindsey Swartz and Anastasia Hediger 1-2 with Rebecca Sadler 4th. And it was a 1,2,3, 4 sweep for the boys 100 breast with Thomas Doolittle, Edward Walker, Sam Korntner, Jack Cawley.
The Panthers closed the meet as strong as they opened with another 1-2 finish in both the girls and boys 400 free relays.
Pine Crest will travel to Islamorada tomorrow morning to race against Coral Shores High School. Our next and final home dual meet will be next Wednesday, October 19, as Pine Crest will host Boys 2A State Champions Belen Jesuit along with University School. The meet will start at 4:30pm, come out and cheer on your Panthers as they close out the dual meet season and prepare for the upcoming State championship playoffs.
