Shark Diving Invitational (Results & Photos)

 

Five boys and five girls represented the Pine Crest Diving Club at the Shark Invitational in Davie, FL at Nova Southeastern Aquatic Complex on Saturday, February 11th

 

Team Awards

The overall Championship team award went to 3D of Jupiter.  Pine Crest Diving placed 2nd, ahead of Boca Dive Team-3rd, Coral Springs Diving Club-4th, Ft.Lauderdale Diving Team-5th, Seahawks Diving Team-6th and Miami Diving -7th.  The Pine Crest Diving Club boys team placed second to 3D of Jupiter by five points.  The girls team placed third behind 3D and the Boca Dive Team. 

 

Synchro Events

Pine Crest swept the synchro events. The winning tandem pairs were:

Lily Ehrlich and Sarah Schwartz - 13&U Synchro Girls 1m

Denny Gulia-Janovski and Kevin Mendez - 13&U Synchro Boys 1m

Austin Fields and Hunter Fields-Synchro 14-18 Boys 1m.

 

Individual Junior Events

In 11&U Boys springboard events, Pine Crest’s  Kevin Mendez, 8 years old, and Denny Gulia Janovski, 7 years, old placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in boy 1m and 3m behind  10 year old Tyler Coffey of Jupiter.  In 11&U Girls springboard events, Pine Crest’s Lily Ehrlich-8 years old and Sarah Schwartz, 9 years old, placed 5th and 6th respectively.  In 14-15 boys, Austin and Hunter placed 3rd and 4th.

Hunter improved 38.20 points in 1m and 26.50 points in 3-meter.

 

Individual Future Champions Events

Michael Harrigan placed 5th in Boys Level 2 1m beating the Level 1 winner’s score by six points.  Caroline Mederos, diving in her first meet,  placed 3rd in Girls Level 1 1m.  Lily Ehrlich placed 3rd in Level 3 Girls 3m. Ana Arboleda placed 5th behind teammate Kitt Curtis-4th in Level 6 Girls 1m.

 

Individual High Point Awards

The top four high point award winners for Men were Pine Crest Divers:

Kevin Mendez, Denny Gulia-Janovski, Austin Fields and Hunter Fields.  In the Women’s Individual High Point Awards, Pine Crest Diving’s 11&U Girls Lily Ehrlich placed 5th and Sarah Schwartz placed 8th.
