Wendy Wyland Diving Invitational

Pine Crest Diving Club attended the Wendy Wyland Invitational March 3-4 at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex hosted by the Ft. Lauderdale Dive Team (FLDT).  Senior events score the top 16 places:  24-20-19-18-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-10-4-3-2-1. Junior and Future Champions score the top 12 places: 15-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-4-3-2-1.

The following Pine Crest students and diving club members attended the meet:

Lower School:  Boys-Denny Gulia-Janovski, Kevin Mendez, Sam Rosenthal, Adam Shiff

Girls-Lily Ehrlich, Arielle Kaplan, Hannah Maister, Olivia Seldon, Shiraz Shiff

Middle School: Boys- Lyle Hayes-Macaluso (FLDT), Jack Osborn; Girls-Ana Arboleda, Hannah Lindgren.

Upper  School: Carolyn Chaney (BDT).

Team Awards. 3D Diving of Jupiter won the Championship Team Award Overall by winning both Men’s and Women’s Team Championship Awards.  The competition host club, Fort Lauderdale Dive Team, placed 2^nd in Overall and the  Men’s Team Championships Award. Pine Crest Diving placed third in the Overall Championship Team Award ahead of Boca Dive Team-4^th, Miami Diving-5^th and Seahawks Diving Team-6^th.

Individual Champions. Junior: Carolyn Chaney- 16-18 Girls 1m, and Lyle Hayes-macaluso- 12-13 Boys Platform,  Kevin Mendez- 11&U Boys 3m and Platform.

Future Champions:Olivia Seldon-Level 1Girls 1m,diving in her first away meet,  Hannah Lindgren- Level 5 Girls 3m, Sam Rosenthal-Level 2 Boys 3m.

Medalists. In addition to the Individual Champions, the following Junior and Future Champions divers also medaled: Junior: Carolyn Chaney -2^nd Girls 3m, Lyle Hayes-macaluso-2^nd 12-13 Boys 1m and 3m, Kevin Mendez-2^nd Boys 1m, Denny Gulia-Janovski-3^rd Boys 3m.

 Future Champions:  Lily Ehrlich-2^nd Level 3 Girls 3m, Hannah Lindgren-3^rd  Level 2 Girls 3m, Ana Arboleda-2^nd Level 6 Girls 1m, Adam Shiff-2^nd Level 1 Boys 1m diving in his first meet, Sam Rosenthal-2^nd Level 4 Boys 1m.

Individual High Point Awards.  Men: Senior diver Briadam Herrera – 48 points, was the top Individual high point award winner  followed by Junior divers Kevin Mendez  (PIND) and Zachary Allen(FTDT) tied for second with 42 points followed by Lyle Hayes-macaluso (FLDT)- 4^th with 39 points. After Kevin Mendez, the next highest scoring Pine Crest boys were Denny Gulia Janovski-15^th with 11 points and Jack Osborn-17^th with 9 points.

Women: Carolyn Chaney (BDT) tied for third with Olivia Wilson (3D) and Blaire Mulke (BDT) scoring 27 points behind Johanna Holloway (FLDT)-1^st with 45 points and Maia Goldstein (SEAH) 2^nd with 30 points.  The highest points earned by Pine Crest Diving girls were Hannah Lindgren scoring 15 team points and Hannah Maister scoring 10 points.
