Pine Crest High School Swimming & Diving Results
PIne Crest Swimming and Diving season kicked off this past weekend at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, on Friday, Sept. 14, with a double dual meet against Bolles and Episcopal High School, the scores in boys Bolles 153- Pine Crest 33; Pine Crest 169 - Episcopal 14; in the girls Bolles 123 - Pine Crest 62; Pine Crest 139 - Episcopal 46. Highlights from the meet in girls were Tyla Martin winning the 100 fly and Carolyn Chaney winning the diving. The following day at the Bolles Invitational, Descartes Holland won the 50 free, Carolyn Chaney won the diving, Tyla Martin won the 100 fly and Kent Haeffner won the 500 free.
On Tuesday, September 18, Pine Crest went to Ransom Everglades in Miami to take on Ransom and Boca Raton High in a double dual meet. The new Aquatic Center at Ransom is "State of the Art" but it does not include diving so there was no diving at this event. Final scores for boys Boca Raton 172 - Pine Crest 107; Pine Crest 186 - Ransom 93; for Girls, Pine Crest 160 - Ransom 119; Pine Crest 187 - Boca Raton 92. The girls meet with Ransom was much closer than the final score shows for at the half way point of the meet Ransom was ahead by 1 point and line up changes and relay changes were made to present a stronger performance for the team and it was a credit to the athletes that those moved from the A relay to the B relay or taken off a relay to help the relays score higher understood the need for the change and wanted to help the TEAM. As a result the girls won both meets. Some additional highlights were Brittany Hammond winning the 200 free and 100 back; Casey Francis winning the 200 IM and 500 free; Hannah Veale winning the 50 free; Kaelah Chaney winning the 100 free; Kent Haeffner winning the 200 and 500 free; Alex Evenson winning the 200 IM; Descartes Holland winning the 50 free.
The Panthers host American Heritage today at the Woodson pool at 4:15pm to open their home meet season, come out and cheer on your favorite swimmer or diver.
The Boys record now stands at 2-2 and the Girls record is 3-1!
