High School Dual Meet against American Heritage
Pine Crest Swimming and Diving had their first meet at home last night against American Heritage and it was an exciting meet for the boys as in came down to the last event the 400 free relay, with American Heritage just touching out Pine Crest to win the meet 93-90.
The Lady Panthers dominated the meet from start to finish defeating American Heritage 134 to 49.
There were several close races for the boys throughout the meet and each athlete on the squad helped the Panthers to keep the pressure on the Patriots throughout the meet. The boys 200 medley relay was 2nd; Kent Haeffner won the 200 free, with John Garner, and John Rudnik scoring points in the race. Alex Evenson took 2nd in the 200 IM with Thomas Doolittle scoring 5th. Descartes Holland won the 50 free, with Christian Bijlsma and Jack Cawley scoring, then the divers went 1-2-3 with Austin Fields, Connor Gerrits, and Lyle Hayes-Macaluso. Rak Hovart and John Rudnik scored in the 100 fly, Descartes Hollland won the 100 free, with Jack Cawley scoring. Kent Haeffner and Alex Evenson teamed up to go 1-2 in the 500 free, and Rak Hovart was 5th. Descartes Holland, Kent Haeffner, Alex Evenson, Christian Bijlsma teamed up to win the 200 free relay. Anton Gueneralov was 2nd in the 100 back with Matt Kronengold, and John Graner scoring. Thomas Doolittle, Sam Korntner, Ryan Graff all scored in the 100 breast and the 400 free relay finished 2nd.
The Lady Panthers opened the meet with a strong win in the 200 medley relay with Miriyam Ghali, Lindsey Swartz, Tyla Martin, Kaelah Chaney. In the 200 free it was a 1-2-3 sweep with Casey Francis, Julia Chui, Sabrina Gornisiewicz. Then Brittany Hammond and Tyla Martin went 1-2 in the 200 IM with Anastasia Hediger placing 4th. Kaelah Chaney won the 50 free, with Hannah Veale and Brooke Bernstein scoring. The divers went 1-2-3 with Carolyn Chaney, Juliette Pozzuoli, Carly Ehrlich. In the 100 fly Tyla Martin took the win with Miriyam Ghali and Lindsey Swartz adding points to the teams total. Hannah Veale, Julia Chui, Jamie Flores went 2-3-4 in the 100 free. Casey Francis won the 500 and Sabrina Gornisiewicz, Monica Pradel scored in the 500. Kaelah Chaney, Julia Chui, Hannah Veale, Brittany Hammond teamed up to win the 200 free relay. Miriyam Ghali won the 100 back, with Jamie Flores and Amber Lubie scoring. Brittany Hammond and Lindsey Swartz went 1-2 in the 100 breast with Anastasia Heidger placing 4th, Casey Francis, Tyla Martin, Kaelah Chaney, Hannah Veale closed out the meet with a win in the 400 free relay.
