Swartz & Haeffner Achieve World Champ Trial Cuts

Now that the Junior National Championships are over, we can now say that the Long Course season has ended for this year.  We have had a fantastic summer with some extremely fast results.

Congratulations to both Lindsey Swartz and Kent Haeffner who achieved the very hard World Championship Trial cut in their strongest event.

Lindsey Swartz (16 years old) achieved the World Champ Trials cut in the 200m breaststroke at "Senior Champs" in Coral Springs during the weekend of July 26-28, in a time of 2:35.98.  Her times in Senior Champs were outstanding as she had 100% best times in all 6 events.  She placed in 1st place overall in the 50m breast, 200m breast, 400IM, 100 breast, and 200IM, and 2nd overall in the 100 free.

Lindsey went onto Junior Nationals in California during the week of August 6-9 and swam the 200m breaststroke and 400IM.

Kent Haeffner (17 years old) achieved the World Champ Trials cut in the 1500m freestyle at "Junior Nationals" in California in a time of 15.52.59 placing 25th overall.  He also had 100% best times with drops in the 200m free, 400m free, and 800m free.

Also congratulations to our other Junior National team members:  Jessica Nava (100m fly), and Marta Ciesla (50m free and 100m free).

Tyla Martin (16 years old) will be swimming the FINA World Junior Championships in Dubai for Trinidad & Tobago at the end of the month, watch out for the post meet report in September.
