Seth Berke Making Waves in Water Polo!

Congratulations to Seth Berke (12 years old) who trains under Coach Tom in the Green II Group at the Boca Raton Campus for his success in the Water Polo arena.  Seth started in our Swim Lessons Program in PreK and has progressed through the ranks to Green II on the Swim Team.

Seth was invited to join the USA Olympic Development Program (ODP) for water polo by the regional commissioner of USA Water Polo. The commissioner attended a tournament last summer where Seth was the high goal scorer for his division (this May have something to do with the invite). Seth is the youngest athlete invited to The regions program and will be playing in the 8th grade division (youngest division).

"The purpose of the Olympic Development Program is to serve as the feeder system for USA Water Polo's National Teams and NCAA programs. Once an athlete is selected to the ODP team, they train with Olympic and college coaches and are evaluated for placement on regional teams to compete in national tournaments and ultimately are evaluated for placement on the national team. "

This will be a great opportunity for Seth to further develop his skills, play in higher level national tournaments, meet other ODP players around the country and cultivate relationships with Olympic and college coaches.

One thing you should know is that under new FINA rules, fast swimmers will enjoy an even greater advantage then they have now. This of course means that being properly trained and conditioned in swimming will be the key to Seth's long term success. Thanks for putting him in a position to get to this level! Looking forward to seeing more great things to come in swimming and water polo!
